But it’s more accurate to say that this was more along the lines of a philosophical belief in “natural law” referencing “The Creator”
quote:
That's monotheism, not some fuzzy form of philosophy.
No, monotheism means the belief in a single god (lower case) as opposed to polytheism which believes in multiple gods.
I’ll say again, with the caveat for this discussion it’s generalized and oversimplified, the references in the Declaration of Independence to inalienable rights from the creator weren’t “religious” or specific to “The” Judeo-Christian “God”.
LINK - Wikipedia natural law
quote:
Natural law[1] (Latin: ius naturale, lex naturalis) is a system of law based on a close observation of human nature, from which values thought by the proponents of this concept to be intrinsic to human nature can be deduced and applied independently of positive law (the express enacted laws of a state or society).[2] According to the theory of law called jusnaturalism, all people have inherent rights, conferred not by act of legislation but by "God, nature, or reason."[3] Natural law theory can also refer to "theories of ethics, theories of politics, theories of civil law, and theories of religious morality."[4]

I love how these nutcases invented a “scary” term for exactly what this country was meant to be, and the only way a country can be successful in the long term

Well, I can unequivocally say I'm a Christian Nationalist and extremely proud to be a Christian Nationalist.
The obvious answer to your question is that the use of the term “Christian Nationalism” is as a label for a certain political movements, and not necessarily as a descriptive for any person who identifies as a Christian and patriotic.
I’d offer that the flavors of “Christianity” and “patriotism/nationalism” are varied, and therefore just because a group uses the symbols doesn’t mean they are representative of the entire brand.

quote:You seem awfully triggered by such a “nonsense story”.
The beauty of this statement is that no one cares what you believe. It literally makes no difference. Because none of that dumbass statement is factual or true or grounded in any sort reason or logic. You’re grasping on to nonsense stories written by men and handed down over time. It’s so fricking weird.
You are a sinner. You have broken the laws set down by the king and creator of all things and are guilty before Him. He is a just and holy God and cannot let you do that without consequence. You deserve to die and suffer in Hell for eternity.
God is also loving and has sent His only son to become a man like you are, to obey the demands of the law that you have not obeyed, and to suffer and die unjustly for sinners like you in order to release you from the debt you owe for your sin and to give you His own perfect righteousness which is required to have eternal life. All you have to do is believe it and that freedom, righteousness, and life is yours.
Turn from your rejection of Christ as Lord and turn from your sins; put your trust in the saving work of Jesus Christ for your sins and you will be free of the guilt and shame of your sins. You have no hope outside of Jesus. Embrace Him as Lord and Savior before it is too late for you.

Weird take - though I’m not a believer, and I’d consider myself agnostic, I see utmost importance in shared values to sustaining a healthy country. Christianity did that really well. Christ’s teachings were pretty dead on for the most part, regardless of your beliefs. I don’t know of anyone in history who got it right in a simple way like Jesus did. You could be an atheist and not disagree with that. People underestimate how much good in our society comes from Judeo-Christian values.
I don’t get offended by people praying around me. I hate agnostics or non-Christians who are like that. I’d happily send my kid to a Christian school over a woke public school because of reasons I mentioned. Everything was better when we were a “Christian Nationalist” country and the anti-west anti-religion idiots are too stupid to see that.

All nations are obligated to recognize Him as Lord and King or they will receive His judgement on the last day, if not beforehand.

This is false on so many levels. It’s sad supposedly informed people can be so ignorant.

The US Constitution and the US Declaration of Independence state those things, so, the charge against these ideas is an indictment of the entire foundation of the United States of America.
This is perfectly in line with the Left's judgment on the USA and the Left's plans to fundamentally transform the USA.

I will say that I am a Christian who believes in the divinity of Jesus. I can, however, see the value and understand the reasons for what Jefferson did with this work.

My favorite conservative thinker, Jonah Goldberg, discussed this in his column yesterday.
He discusses a lot of these labels from a historical perspective. Interesting stuff if you’re into it.

Heidi Przybyla (who I like personally), makes the bizarre claim that if you think your rights come from God, you’re a “Christian nationalist.” I will audition for the annual World’s Biggest Understatement Award and simply say that this claim is … contestable.

King - doesn't rule over a kingdom and let's his subjects do whatever they want whenever they want to.
I'm also king of America too.

l'm a proud Christian Nationalist, my inalienable rights come from the sovereign Creator of the undefinable reality we exist in
There is no problem in the philosophy that natural rights derive from God or in the philosophy that natural rights derive from several core freedom concepts that are derived from thousands of years of shared human experience, without belief in God. That question does not have to be resolved, and the result is the same.
The issue is in the implementation of a system to assign power to individual people in our organized society and the designation of what powers those individuals can wield.
The modern American concept of “Christian Nationalism” is a radical idea that elected political leaders can use the power of the State to impose upon all persons their own versions of whatever they declare is the will of God. That leads invariably to extreme and supreme power to oppress anyone who does not subscribe to their personal religious vision.
This isn’t new. In the England prior to the American Revolution, the Church of England assigned both political and religious power to the King. Our founding fathers found this merger of political and religious power to be untenable. That’s why our Constitution does not merge State and religious authority, and our founders eschewed any such merger. The State is the State. Religious entities are free to operate separately.
This new idea of “Christian Nationalism” is an effort by individuals who want personal power to cloak their authority in religious authority. It is very radical for America. It is designed as a strategy to seize state power.
You are being manipulated by the cheap appeal to Christian authority.

That hasn't been a serious threat in decades.

Quran says “seek out non-believers and terrorize them… in the end only Islam will remain”
Left: “Queers for Palestine!”
I feel like it’s just jealousy of whitey. Take down “the man”. We saw how well that worked in Russia with the Kulaks, but they were a minority. Good luck with that here.
