I am first of all an unashamed Christian. I pledge allegience to Jesus Christ Crucified. In that I am a nationalist I believe the purpose of government is to serve the needs of its citizens - FIRST. Furthermore, I believe power rises from the bottom up - from the people, not from the top down - which is what these radicals are trying to shove down our throats right now.

We are reminded of the example of true sacrificial service during this Lenten Season. In Jesus the Christ we see Him feeding the hungry during the Sermon on the Mount - Matthew 5-7. Imagine a huge crowd with crying babies and fragile elderly sitting on the turf. Breaking taboos as in reaching out to the alienated and banished in His dialogue with the Samaritan Woman at the Well - John 4:4-18. Clearly, she was unlucky in love having had five husbands and currently living with a man. Then the Woman caught in adultery - John 8:1-ll. If Jesus hadn't stepped up to save her they would have splattered her brain all over Jesus and the ground. And I should mention that poor Woman with the bleeding disorder. (Matthew 9:20-22). She was ritually unclean and therefore had to live seperated from her family and the community. Jesus served and saved them.

Furthermore, I believe our Founding Fathers were men of great wisdom (not racist white supremacist like people try to depict them). Regarding how they saw God relative to our Constitution my favorite quote is as follows....

Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” - John Adams

Hell is the absence of God. I choose God.

Yeah but Putin = Trump to the left. If Russia’s people were poor and brown jihadists I doubt we’d see any Ukrainian flags in Hollywood or on college campuses.

In a thread about Constitutional Rights coming from God, I'm getting told that saying Jesus isn't king of America is "treasonous".

You misunderstands what she is saying.

She is not saying you are a Christian nationalist if you believe God is the source of your rights. To the contrary, she is saying you are a Christian Nationalist if you believe God is the "sole" source of and sets all of the parameters of your rights.

She is saying that a Christian Nationalist is someone who would disregard the applicable constitutions, supreme courts, and legislatures.

One could say that she defines "Christian Nationalist" in a similar way to what one might call a "Sovereign Citizen," that the Constitution, Supreme Court, and Congress do not apply to them.

Call it 'from a creator' or simply the natural state of enlightened humans, fine. But our RIGHTS absolutely do not come FROM Government. FFS.

Yes, I'm well aware of naturalist claims. From a philosophical standpoint they're no different than claims of a creator, atheists are just more comfortable calling their supernatural "thing" that they believe in "natural".

I find it difficult to find voices in this debate who reflect my leanings.

- Conservative Christian
- Appreciates Christian influence in government, especially local/state government
- Have no intention/desire to exercise dominion over non-Christians
- At the same time, I don't object to non-Christians desiring to live amongst a Christian majority being expected to honor the values of the majority (blue laws, perhaps anti-blasphemy laws, etc.)
- All that said, am concerned about conflating conservatism, anti-leftist crusades, etc. with kingdom-work.

Life, star formation, the golden ratio... we tend to overthink some stuff while ignoring the obvious.

They dont want you thinking your rights came from anywhere but the government. That way when they try to take them from you they will use the courts to do it.

The constitution doesnt constrain citizens. It is there to stop the government from doing things.

You're wrong; we do know that the claims of "natural law" aren't scientific. That doesn't mean they're wrong, it just means they're claims that are outside the reach of the scientific method.

I’m a Christian, but I also believe in the rule of law in America. That is in no way a contradiction except for the simple minded.
