Real definition is keeping players longer than they should at either the expense of youth or talent.
We were the oldest team in the league last year which is no surprise.
While real organizations like KC and GB trade their soon to be expensive players and restock the Saints do the opposite and let the youth walk.
Such a shite GM.

The average Saints fan is retarded level stupid.
We should have a Saints talk forum and a Saints whining forum.
Legit.

Do you have the money to buy the team and fire Loomis? If yes? Please for the love of God get off the internet and call Gayle. If you do not then you should find the nearest Saints-fans anonymous meeting.

Well hold on to your Knickers cause it's just getting started.

If you’ve been on TD for any length of time, you know there’s millionaires and billionaires all over the site. I have to think posters here could at least gather an ownership group to buy a franchise.

TD posters have the cash. TD posters cannot get along enough to put together a group.

Dumbest post ever,
"Nobody Cares"
But someone cares enough to read the thread then spends their toilet time thinking up this.

This started when Brees and Payton were still in NO and the Saints were keeping their core together for that last run that never happened. Now the organization is stuck with all of these contracts that would result in expensive cap hits to get rid of them. So you either lose both players AND money, or you slowly phase the older players out and ultimately save money. Contrary to what Madden franchise mode has allowed you to do, you can't nuke a roster like the Saints in real life.

That’s exactly how you build a team

The Patriots were the gold standard of "we don't overpay for players", letting big name veterans walk on both sides of the ball and replacing thru the draft. Worked great for a long time...
Except when their hall of fame QB left, it turns out all that young talent isn't all that great

You’re constantly rotating a balance of veterans where you spread the cap hit and rookies, literally how it’s done

You have to be the biggest sunshine pumper.. You actually think the saints are heading in the right direction? Are you related to loomis?

Literally no other team is doing what the Saints are doing cap wise
It’s not how you build a team

I will say you will see some teams do it from time to time to chase a chance at a ring (think Rams a few years ago). Difference is, once they take that big swing; they then accept their immediate fate and start fixing the situation.
Saints should have adjusted the process around 2020 and started taking their lumps. Had they done that, we would be going into this offseason in a great cap position, most likely needing a QB, but would also have some extra picks, and possibly in a much better position to get 1 in the draft this year.

Yeah I guess I didn’t say that right. It’s not how you build a team. When you have a loaded roster and a chance at a championship then it’s perfectly fine. No one had an issue with this strategy 2017-2020 with Brees.
