Someone Was Looking for Sriracha Chili Sauce

A while back someone posted that they had trouble finding Sriracha Chili Sauce. At the Hong Kong market yesterday I saw that they had this one and several other brands as well but not the Tabasco brand.

Found the other day at Breaux Mart in River Ridge and was so excited. Haven't had this in about 6-7 months.

Has anyone located Sambal?

I'm pretty sure I saw Sambal there at the Hong Kong Market. Check any international market. I went to the Asian market in Metairie and Hong Kong looking for fresh Thai peppers. None! Last thought was the International Market in Metairie on Barron and I almost changed my mind about going because they are mostly Mediterranean/Middle Eastern but I went on since I was only a few blocks away. They in fact did have Thai peppers. I was ecstatic! LOl......

Homemade Sauce
I have done this with several versions of peppers. Hard to mimic the thickness of whats in the bottle, but made some damn fine hotsauce

Does it taste the same as before? I loved it and never considered trying another until it was unavailable for so long. Now I am content using the Tabasco version and a few others. I cannot imagine the business they lost over the past few years.

Restaurant depot had it with a 2 case limit.

Wasn't the issue short supply of the peppers themselves, which affected all brands? Maybe the others were just easier to get because everyone uses that one brand and didn't want to try another?

Yes it's just as good as always
No other sriracha tastes like it - Huy Fong is the best
Tabasco version is okay, but not the same flavor profile

There’s several similar brands that taste identical

I havent had any that taste identical.
I truly think Huy Fong is the superior sirachi. Others are good too but Huy Fong is on top for me.

Underwood Sriracha is the best replacement for the OG rooster one. The owner of Underwood ranch was the original supplier of the peppers before the Red Rooster guy tried to back out of their contract or something.

I forgot to mention this on Saturday. I went back to the International Market on Barron St in Metairie as a recipe I was going to do called for Sambal and they do indeed have Sambal Oelek there. so if anyone is looking for that check it out.

I make my own sambal (red & green), however, I can get it at an Indonesian shop here in Abu Dhabi. In Jakarta, Bogor, Bali, Sentul, Bandung, etc. all have great Sambal.

This one in your pic, by Huy Fong Foods with the rooster, is the best by far and the original. All of the knockoffs are not even close to the flavor of this one.
Guess I need to try the one from Tabasco. I prefer Louisiana and Cajun Chef to Tabasco anyway, so not expecting much.

Tabasco's Sriracha is surprisingly good. I just didn't expect a Louisiana hot sauce company to nail Sriracha sauce.
But I agree with you. I've tried several other brands, and Huy Fong is the best.

I haven't been able to find Sambal or the Chili-Garlic sauce

I'm not in NOLA, but it's available in BR at the Asian grocery stores on Florida blvd, so I'd guess the Asian groceries in NOLA would have it also.
