.....and the greatest drinker as well. As a ballplayer he had few equals in any era

1st of all, I agree as much as it pains me as Griffey guy.
2nd, you know you hit a nerve with baseball fans when they start bringing rings, morality and being hated by teammates into the discussion. None of those things factor into him being individually the best hitter of all time. Every at bat doesn't win a ring(analytic goat Trout has won exactly nothing in his career), lots of immoral heroes in baseball lore, and none of his teammates stepped into that box with him.

Bonds never elevated his team
How does an outfielder “elevate his team” to make pitching, defense, and other player’s hitting/running improve? Please explain

Hank Aaron????
Yes.
People just think of him strictly as a power hitter but that's just looking at it on the surface.
He is the all-time leader in RBI(2,297), XBH(1,477), and total bases(6,856). He's 3rd in hits(3,771 w/.305 career BA) and 5th in runs(2,174). He also had 240 stolen bases.
He was arguably the greatest all-around player in the history of the game.
He was better than Mantle.

Nobody wanted to play with him. He had a few co-stars on his team that hated him.
So did Ty Cobb.

I think Williams is greatest hitter that ever lived but Bonds is #2 and the gap is not all that big. Very similar in their knowledge of the strike zone.

First baseball I can remember watching is around 1978, so I missed Mays, Mantle, and Aaron. Bonds is by far the best baseball I've ever seen in my lifetime followed by Junior. Dad said Mays and Aaron were better, as was peak Mantle.

Aaron’s accolades are based purely on longevity. His peak was nowhere near the heights Mantle reached.

I must've also missed that year where Barry Bonds was the best hitter in the league AND also the best pitcher.

Williams would have all of Bonds records beat had he not been a patriot.
Bonds would never put on the uniform.

Aaron was much better than he's given credit for being a Top 3-5 all timer. I think the longevity thing has been blown out of proportion. He wasn't playing just to keep playing. He was still a Top 5-10 player in the league when he was 40. Only his last two years when he went back to Milwaukee were playing out the string type years.

Go look at the stats dipshit.

Bonds individual numbers are up there with the best of all time. He was an incredible player even without steroids and People absolutely ignore how good he was and just point to the juicing scandal as the reason why he shouldn't be a HOF'er. 7 MVPs, 8 Gold Gloves, multi-time leader in OBPS and 1000 more walks than strikeouts is insane no matter how you slice it.
Only thing wrong with his resume (if you take steroids out) is not winning a championship. That is a big piece of legacy/GOAT debates and it's frankly surprising he only made the World Series once.

bullshite. Look at Ken Griffey Jr.

I have Williams 1, Tony Gwynn 2, and Bonds 3 as best hitters. Definitely don’t have Bonds as greatest player. His defense was horrendous. He had one of the best swings in baseball, but he should have been a DH. He was a cancer to his team as well.

The stats don’t help the argument as much as you think they do.
