He was the best.

I don’t care if athletes use steroids.

In fact it should be encouraged

One year Ted won the triple crown and lost out to Joe for the MVP.

In fairness that was the year Joe D. hit in 56 straight games. They didn’t exactly give it to a jabroni.

It really wasn’t. 1941 Ted hit .406 and would have won triple crown but Joe had 125 RBI’s to teds 120. But there was a year that Ted won triple crown but Joe won mvp. Maybe 1946.

You’re right, it was 1947, I just remembered that people bitched about 1941 too.

I don't know if Bonds is better now than Ruth or Williams or Mays or Mantle or Rose or Reggie or Griffey or whomever. Ruth is dead so probably couldn't play more than an inning.

What I do know is you can only judge by how much a player dominated their peers. That's the, only metric. And Ruth dwarfs everyone... Best hitter in the League, best pitcher in the,League.

That's why the media generously calls Ohtani the new Babe Ruth.

I don't get the love for Bonds on this board. Terrible fielder, noodle arm...took roids, head balloned, hit a bunch of bombs to Roger Maris' family disrespect. Never won shite. Why the love for this fraudulent, no winning a-hole? Is it just because you had his, poster on your wall as a kid? Time to to grow up and really understand what greatness is...but he did put on a,show.

Bonds was a fine fielder, just didn't have a good arm.

He was an incredible baseball player and the most feared hitter any of us have ever seen, since I highly doubt anyone posting was alive to see Ted Williams in his prime because his games weren't on TV.

Terrible fielder

You don't win 8 Gold Gloves by being a terrible fielder.

noodle arm

No argument there.

Steroids don't help hand-eye coordination, and he would have been a first ballot hall of famer had he retired after the 2000 season. He was an all time great without the steroids.

Never won shite

You must really hate Ted Williams, then. Judging individual players based on team accomplishments is retarded, especially in baseball.

If you don't think Barry Bonds was a great player, then your opinion on any baseball related topic is irrelevant and should be discarded.

And like Ruth, it might be best if he shifts his talent to hitting. The second arm surgery at his age would be enough to convince me I would rather have a long career than blow it all trying to do too much.
