Nope. It wasn’t men’s varsity

Just like women’s varsity is an entirely different sport than mens

Are you suggesting we should reach out to Sheryl Swoops so she can voice her opinion on Clark scoring more points over 4 years in WBB and why it’s not as impressive as Pete doing it over 3 years in MBB?

He averaged 43.6 ppg and played 19 games his Freshman year. Thats another 828 points.

If they are going to say that Clark is comparable when she didn’t play Men’s varsity basketball, then they should include his Freshman year numbers as well.

The ONLY thing Clark has in common with The Pistol, is underarm hair.

They don't care. They sensationalize everything. Wait until a RB breaks Eric Dickerson's rushing record in 17 games. They will celebrate without any mention of the difference. Know who has the 14 game rushing record?...OJ Simpson. Sports media (all journalists) are terrible at being objective. They just want clicks. Hence "a woman breaking Pete's record" which is impossible without Clark playing a minute men's basketball.

They had a JV system back in the 60's Pete only played 3 years of varsity and fewer games per year than they play now.

No. They didn’t let Freshmen play varsity. No 3 pointers either. They were not yet created.

I’m sure it was still better competition than what Clark plays against

Don't do this to yourselves, folks.

Mass Media IS GOING to trumpet and herald Clark as the All Time College Basketball scoring Champ. Not Maravich. Mass Media will make a point out of mentioning Clark as the one that has finally beaten Pete's record.

It is going to happen. Don't allow it to provoke you into anger. Just accept that Mass Media is going to make this point FOREVER.

The fact that Pete and Clark play in two different sports will be ignored by Mass Media.
