Russell Brand is not an intellectual. He’s sort of a middle brow - the kind of guy who listens to intellectuals (and others) and purveys their work and opinions to an audience. I think he does a fairly good job of it, but not in the same class as a Rush Limbaugh, for example.

Not to the level of Bret Weinstein or Jordan Peterson, but he does speak well and offers a coherent, well thought out argument.
Not sure what technically qualifies as 'intellectual', but I'd say Rush would proudly admit to not being one and take it as a compliment for putting him in the same category as Brand.
