Texas is the worst developmental program in the entire country. Before last year, Texas had gone nearly a decade without a first round pick. Seriously y’all look at a Texas list of NFL players. Their claim to fame is a kicker, and a whole lot of mediocrity.

This is especially pitiful considering they habitually recruit in the Top 5 in the country. I’ll never understand a highly ranked HS kid going there if he wants a serious look at the NFL.

Texas was. Sark has a great staff and will have some first rounders going forward on offense.

1-11 I think matrix had them rated the best staff in the country.

And we’ll also get the underrated kids once they’ve upperclassmen looking to transfer to a bigger program. Looking good for the future.

They definitely had a plan to lock the state down and did it. It may play out to be more beneficial in reeling in the 2 forthcoming classes with that focus. Not convinced the state is really that great a group this class. Lot of boom or bust. Low floor group imo. No guys you'd bet the farm on being successful. Green likely the closest one. Deeper than it appeared to be in the spring and depth was the battle cry at the beginning. We accomplished that much for sure.

Yeah, while it lacks elite talent in some areas, I think it’s a good group overall. Green, McKinley, and Davis appear to be those elite guys this year. Other than that, there are a lot of guys to project upon 2-3 years from now who could turn out to be dudes.

It’s not a lack of development; it’s a lack of talent. They recruited guys ranked high who sucked. The recruiting services have little idea.

Yeah, my highest rated LSU signees (my 5* but I have more than the arbitrary 32) are Cobbins, Green, Reliford, Durham, and Echols. I still can't put McKinley in that group after watching the All Star game and reading a lot of comments about his regular season play. The recruiting services missed hideously on Reliford...their ratings are laughable on him, especially 247 itself that barely has him a 4*! Green is a 5* and Durham moved close to 5* status. If he had played the 2nd half in most blowout games, he would have made 5* status but his stats were held down. The LSU group is really underrated IMO.

Right on target comment. I have noticed that certain programs basically just use the recruiting services opinions as gospel...too lazy to make their own evaluations. Orgeron was like that. And as you mentioned the Texas staffs have been like that. A&M has been like that to some degree too. Remember a guy named Daylon Mack? Recruiting services had him a top 7 guy!
