and agree that the Louisiana governor is a douchebag who should not be involved in anything LSU related.

Politics have nothing to do with the sport: er go Landry should have nothing to do with the athletic department.

I think we need to start titling these "Player X temporarily commits to LSU".

I endorse this message!!!

CBT can recruit, it’s the development that gets stalled

Unfortunate truth. As long as you don't fumble "badly" the Tiger Brand yields top recruits every year in the softball & baseball programs. Good timing for recruiting when the football program starts off with a great win like they did too.

For some reason we just can't mix the gumbo right on the dirt in the ladies' park. Maybe this year will be the year we get it right and return to OKC--definitely CANNOT lose in regionals.

So you are a kid from a relatively low income home...or even a middle class home.

One school offers you $600k to play for them. The other offers $750k. A third offers $1M. You say you want $1.5M and a school commits to it. You're fine. You're set. Then another school comes along an offer $2.5M. Why would you not consider that offer...and take it? That's significantly more money than your family has ever had. It's life changing money. There's no guarantee you will be a pro ball player, regardless of which college you attend. So the "dollar today" theory applies.

Whether you like it or not, this is the marketplace. Grown men getting upset at 18 year old boys for taking a better offer that benefits THEM is sad. And you are going to continue to watch the sport. Why? Because while the players always change, those school colors don't. You aren't a fan of the player. Your fandom doesn't change with the player's team. You're a fan of the school and, by proxy, the player.

Can't refute these facts. And the thought of "not committing if you're still shopping" sounds great but the reality of it is that they are operating within the confines of the existing rules and leveraging those rules to your advantage can't be frowned upon if they aren't willing to change the rules to avoid the behavior. Nothing significant will change as long as it remains profitable and I don't see profitability changing.
One day someone will come up with another term other than "commit" for football recruits. I love it when it works in the Tigers' favor but the term "committed" is defined in a way that just does not support the culture of "committed" recruits bouncing around visit after visit AFTER "committing" to attend a program. How about we call it a promise if a kid is willing to entertain other offers and go on visits after the fact? Although, even that might be too strong of a moniker for it.....

Maybe move to gradations like "leaning", "leaning strongly", "soft commit", "committed".......

Just bugs the hell outta me...

So you're saying there's a chance...... :dunno:

Thank you, sir!! Quite proud to be one too, especially given it clearly means being a true Republican with morals, integrity, reasoned conservatism, and a belief in decorum.

Any Republican that can’t be happy with the results that Trump is getting is just an idiot. Spending needs to be addressed, but they couldn’t do that in this recent bill. They are planning to do that next.

Decorum? Please. Consider the assholes in the other party.

Appreciate you stepping up as Exhibit A. I'll stick to the Republican Party I know and love. Never spoke about any specific bill nor cry about any specific results. On the contrary, my statement was that policy isn't the issue. And unfortunately it isn't those folks on the other side of the aisle standing out as lacking decorum these days. I can disagree with their policy and still be honest and truthful at the same time.

The things I teach my children are based on conservative policies that don't align with much of the platform of liberals, but I also teach them kindness, integrity, honesty, consistency and yes the need for decorum and treating people with respect. Policy views will never impact that, but we are a country of free thinkers who will never agree on everything so I respectfully move on.

Correct.

Nice update!! Pluses and minuses but like where the program is coming off the title. Even MORE pumped about the recruiting wins!!

Maybe Jay can teach Donald how to be a leader

From a REAL Republican--agreed. Can jump onboard with a big part of the policy but leadership big time lacking. But what do I know--I'm probably just a dumbass too

Texas has a dozen Lambos lined up for recruits this weekend.

This is insane! But guess it is still capitalism at its finest. At some point the power balance was going to shift. Controlling that power shift is the big hard piece of the puzzle everyone is struggling with.
quote:

The struggle is there really isn’t many high level pitchers left in the portal.

Maya Johnson from Belmont is expected to end up at tOSU after just becoming a licensed nurse in the state of Ohio.

Desirae Spearman, the former Conference USA Player of the year out of New Mexico State, came on a visit but must’ve gotten offered more NIL in Lubbock as she just committed to Texas Tech.

Abby Dunning from BC also committed elsewhere to Clemson after taking an official visit with us.

Our best shot would be Miali Guachino out of Ole Miss who just entered the portal the other day. she was a D1 Softball second team freshman All-American, and lead the nation in strikeouts for a decent amount of last season; however, it’s suspected she wants to return home to Southern California and join UCLA. I do know they are trying to get her in for a visit in the next week or so.

Agree on Miali. Heard the same thing. UCLA has inside track I hear. And they are desperate for pitching so I'm certain they'll roll out the red carpet.

I still feel like we need one more veteran pitcher from the portal.

Agree.

It’s been a few hours, I thought Casual would’ve been by to say she’s not SEC caliber by now.

While that's cool and all, neither Tennessee nor Heupel has produced a decent NFL WR in a long arse time.

Agreed. Let's hope the kid's advisors are so aptly informed and advising....

Are we getting an outfielder? Seems like Lorenz going to UK,

Has Char committed there?? I think we still may get one but we struck out on Hannah Coor for sure (committed to Nebraska). About five others not yet announced still on board that I think could be in play:

Dakota Kennedy (AZ): 2x All American Top outfielder left on board and everyone after her. Visited TX Tech--will she be a late Red Raider add?

Kaiah Altmeyer (AZ): Kennedy's teammate and solid outtie. Been quiet on her but heard she visited TX along with Spearman.

Desirae Spearman (NM St): 20+ homeruns (although most against mid-major pitchers), but TX on her hard.

Char Lorenz (LV): Thought we had good shot at her given the hitting coach recruited her, but based on your note maybe not!

Maya Bland (OU): Coor's teammate but spot player for last two years at OU. I think she's a potential add given trend of most recent adds.
