Yeah, because assembling a staff on the fly while trying to get off the ground and cobble together a class right before ESD is totally the same thing as an established coach making replacements after signing day has passed. Just sayin.

LSU has two defensive tackles. Having an adequate defense is a pipe dream.
I suggest you retake Math 101 and improve your counting skills. You doing adequate team evaluation is a pipe dream.

Let’s not pretend there aren’t plenty of question marks. Even if those guys move inside there is no guarantee they can play DT well enough. Bodies is not the same as guys who can play well.
Wingo should have played much better but unknown to us, he was hurt for most of the season and had to eventually have surgery. Maason Smith has yet to come back remotely to his TR FR form due to his recovering from ACL surgery back in 2022 season. So as you said, bodies is not the same as guys who can play well. Were you talking about 2023 as well? You could have been.

Glad to hear that you know more than Mike Detillier. BTW, your statement shows your ignorance. Moving from DE to DT is a great thing if you should be playing DT now. You don't have a clue what you are talking about.

But hey, these people who keep acting like LSU doesn't have any options at DT don't understand football very well.
Anyone with half a brain knows that we will struggle at DT this year. We’ve recruited the position too poorly over the last few recruiting cycles, and we’re going to pay the price for it this coming season.

I love how you continually think moving two average players out of position from DE to DT solves all our problem
First, where did I say LSU couldn't pick up another portal inside player for the defensive line? Oh yeah, I didn't. But if you really, really think that Paris Shand is an "average player", thank God you aren't doing talent evaluation for LSU. I say you are utterly incompetent and Mike Detillier told Dandy Don that he really liked his ability. Ssssssooooo, I guess I have one more comment for you.

They just need to be average.

Tell you what...LSU didn't have great DTs in 2023 due to injuries to the starters and DT was not the big problem in that season. But hey, you know what...just call off the season because some proclaimed "person with half a brain" doesn't think LSU will become at least adequate at DT. Go back to your armchair coaching...you apparently think you know more than the LSU coaching staff.

Thanks for making my point. A sub 500 program with 39 scholarship players and wins back to back 10 wins with a win over Bama. You think any other coach could hire top notch coaches with 39 scholarship players and no proof of turning it around?? No but he proved it and now look we have the best coaching staff in America. Yet you’re still miserable. I hate you and more so I hate people that let their lives get this bad to be upset at their favorite team knocking it out the park to say a dumbass statement like you did. You sir are the shite on a person show some after walking through a dog park

It’s not about making the perfect moves…No one does that. Of course there are going to be misses and things that didn’t work out.
It’s about making the moves to progress the program forward in the whole.
It’s clear that LSU is in a better place than it was in 2021... And in a better place than it was in 2022…. And in a better place that it was in 2023. I think we all know what I’m saying there.
Things are looking good (arguably great) for the program, even with the as-would-be-expected misses.

LSU definitely makes play offs; I believe they will hv a great chance of winning it all.

Why do you think Savion should be playing inside? You are saying he gained too much weight last year. In order to play inside he probably needs to gain another 30 pounds on top of what he gained last year. It’s like you saying one of our tight ends got too big so now he’s going to be our starting center and pretending that’s a good thing.

Brad Davis will find at least 1, hopefully 2 DT in the spring portal. Paris Shand will be a good starting DT after last year, he really has talent. I think we will figure it out on the DL enough to make us at least average which will be a huge improvement over last year.

It would be difficult to believe this got eight downvotes, if I were new to the Rant.
If this team plays to its defense standards, this place will be a circus come next season.
Nuss and the O Line may save us.

What's with all the hints at possible issues within the staff with some of the moves?
Weird, haven't heard any of that.

Savion Jones is not fast enough to play on the end and yes he is up to 280 last stats I saw. That is not small for a DT. He isn't playing NG. You seem obsessed with exact poundage and not speed or strength which is more important. Once again, I would much rather have my own opinion confirmed by Mike Detillier who said Shand should move inside. Psst, Shand is also listed at 280 just like Jones is for you Jenny Craig watchers.
