Nothing to see here, "aging" means any age and we all know Tasha can be trusted with money, so no witch hunting!
BATON ROUGE - The Metro Council agreed to vote on paying the Council on Aging $480,480 to provide meals for teenagers in juvenile jail as they await trials Wednesday.
The allotted amount will feed the teens from Feb. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024. The council also has the option of extending that contract with the Council on Aging through the end of 2025.

Earlier this month, the mayor's office issued a statement in support of the agreement, saying "this agreement will provide consistent and timely services at no additional cost to City-Parish and will have no impact on employees. The kitchen at the detention center is operable and will be used when needed."
Is this statement claiming that they basically spent this much with a different vendor to provide the same service the Council on Aging will provide?
And, if the kitchen is operable; why would I believe it will be cheaper to outsource the job than it would be to use their own kitchen?

Is there any reason besides so someone well connected can profit off it that the Department of Corrections can't handle this and it gets outsourced to an NGO to feed inmates in a DOC facility?

$500, 000 can buy a lot of ...

100k for Little Debbie cakes and Snackables, 400k for lining someone’s pockets.

To be fair, it's probably cheaper to pay one incompetent person to make 2000 gallons of inedible slop, than to pay 2 incompetent people to make a 1000 gallons of inedible slop each.
Now you'll eat the savings up on shipping but now Tasha gets to wet her beak.

Yeah, that's going to be money well spent. No oversight there.

From the original article when this was discussed a month ago.

Through document's we've obtained, $7,200 were paid to AYCE Catering in November and another $6,600 in December. AYCE Catering shares the same address as the Boil & Roux restaurant on Coursey Blvd.
This new awards appears to be a 600% increase...nothing to see here. Just pass it and move along. No need to do no witch huntin.

How many juveniles are in EBRP facilities?
Pretty sure there has been a ton of catch and release due to all the red tape involving juvenile offenders.

I’m not hateful of government employees actually serving their constituents, but between something like this or the fact that an illegal immigrant gets a free plane flight and stay at a hotel when you’re a tax paying citizen and will NEVER receive that from the government in your life should be on voters’ minds every election.

Meanwhile they stopped providing milk to the elderly meal delivery.
