Haydel's is by far the best. I believe they are sold out for shipping though.

Randazzo's usually comes smashed to shite and ends up being a gooey disgusting mess.

Try this LINK

Haydel's, Gambino's, and Poupart's are the first three listed but all of them should be fine...but not to sure about the vegan.

Look into Duong Phong. They are a highly regarded Vietnamese bakery that has been in the city for 30+ years.

Their kink cakes are always on ranking lists, and they come in a giant ziplock which I think would help freshness when shipped.

Haydels Traditional - ships year round.
Camelia City Randazzo's in Slidell. Only ships during Mardi Gras and they have already closed shipping for the year.

The Randazzo's in Slidell is the only bakery that puts their King Cakes in a patented plastic container. When I order from Camelia City Randazzo's, I custom order it to have the purple, green, gold sugar with drizzled white icing. We don't like king cakes with tons of the white icing all over it.

quote:

We are the originator of the Mini King Cake and the Fleur de Lis King Cake, and we are the only king cake bakery that invented and patented an original, complementary king cake shipping container for select cakes.

Some years ago, I had one shipped from Sucre to a friend in Boston. The Fedex box arrived empty except for crumbs and colored sugar. Guess the Fedex folks had a nice treat. I was surprised they still delivered the box.

Caluda’s is my go to.

They’re an offshoot of the Randazzo’s cabal. It’ll run you $50 to get it delivered overnight.

Lot's of opinions as far as the best king cake, but I think for anyone out of town they are all going to be great as long as they are fresh. We've shipped Randazzo, Haydel, and Gambino king cakes to my son in Colorado and they've all been a hit with his friends. We ship USPS overnight to make sure it's fresh. Probably 80% of the time it takes 2 days to get there instead of overnight, then USPS refunds the shipping fee.

I always head good things from my coworkers and customers I sent Haydel’s to.
