Surely LSU will will be undefeated against Q4 teams, right?
Maybe not, but they do have two Q1 wins
#20 FAU lost to a Q4 team…
Miss St lost to Southern..

What do Jim Jones and Will Wade have in common,
Seeing is believing, right?
Look at LSU's trophy case.
Who were the HCs in the last SEC Football and Men's Basketball Championships?
I'd follow the General. So would his players.

Jesus dude let it go. Wade is gone FOREVER. As in…FOREVER. Never coming back.
Until McMahon starts winning anything of note the comparison is going to continue. Wade is the first LSU coach I can remember where he was fired against the wishes of (most) the fanbase. Bertman retired. Saban left on his own accord. By the end of their tenures the fans wanted Les, Maineieri, and Orgeron gone.
LSU basketball was a fixture in the NCAA Tournament under Wade. The first time that had been the case in 3 decades. That's all gone now and LSU basketball fans are left to "celebrate" the possibility of 5-6 SEC wins.
You can, and I'm sure will, say Wade did it to himself. But it wasn't Wade who chose to leave. It was the LSU administration who made that choice. We can debate in perpetuity whether firing Wade was necessary. But when he is completely turning around a historically bad in program in one season 2 hours away while LSU is fighting to stay out of last place in the SEC the CONSTANTS thoughts of "what if" and "why" will prevail.
EDT: In other words, the constant posts about Wade are an "I told you so" to the AD from the fanbase. Given few, if any, on here have direct access to the AD this is about the best way to get that message across.

Will probably end up as a 8-9 seed at this point.
Not for the Southland
SFA was like 27-5 a few years back and undefeated in the Southland and got an 11 seed

“More sports board for the love of god”
Why? You’ll just follow it over to the MSB and complain there too.

What about VCU, Texas A&M-CC and Michigan, all on the road? That's pretty impressive and should get them in as an at-large if they don't win their conf tournament

Why? Do you plan on starting one?
If Mac keeps losing and Wade wins a playoff game, you probably would be a success.

Can we get Chicken to create a McNeese board so these idiots can go over there and mutually masturbate over an image of WW dressed as Napoleon?

We fired him over a 10 game suspension to have the failure we have now. That isn’t a smart trade off and don’t think for one second if Wade were losing we wouldn’t be seeing dozens of threads dunking on him. Typical double standard from this group of fans

We need a winning MBB coach, even if it's not Wade. The current regime doesn't cut it

Dude I liked will wade, while he was at lsu. He put lsu in a bad spot because he was stupid. Let him go and stop spreading your cheeks for this guy.

Most people agree with this.
Some people are actually still holding out hope that Wade comes back though. Those people are just asking to be disappointed, bc it isn't happening.

The counterargument to that is hindsight is 20/20. When Wade was fired no one knew what the potential sanctions may be. I said from DAY 1 I understood why LSU chose to fire Wade. But my concern was that doing so would effectively tank the program in the same manner that severe sanctions would. That has essentially happen. Now, did LSU get lesser sanctions because they fired Wade? Maybe. But given the infractions ultimately found against him were relatively mild, with the worst of which involving payments to the girlfriend of a former VCU (not LSU) player, it's hard to say. Particularly in light of the fact the IARP didn't really issue any strong sanctions against anyone...which is, in part, why the NCAA abandoned the panel. Because for all of the publicity and hype the FBI investigation of college basketball recruiting received for 2-3 years, the ultimate outcome was a complete dud, and an embarrassment for the DOJ. It didn't fundamentally change the sport. If anything, what was "illegal" became "legal" with the introduction of NIL.

That was the kicker for me. Reading the NOA, the allegations were just derivatives of one allegation that had already been investigated and cleared. It was an obvious hatchet job which brings up a bunch of questions and suspicions as to why we did what we did.

The only way this happens is if they literally don't lose another game all year. Even then, it would be a long shot

Probably not. I certainly wouldn't bet on it. But I would not say there is a 0% chance it could happen. It would take BOTH sides swallowing a lot of ego to mend fences. But there could be a path because...Wade still has a lot of support from the fanbase and boosters/donors. On the whole, neither wanted to see him fired. You saw that immediately when he was suspended at the end of the 2019 season. The fallout from that event was Alleva being fired...not Wade. In a very strange, but real way, Scott Woodward owes his job to the strong support of Wade. If not for that night in the PMAC where Alleva was booed mercilessly he might still be the AD. Particularly when you consider LSU won the football national championship that fall. That night was the straw that broke the camel's back for the donors...who supported Wade. Despite the media constantly rehashing the same story, nothing of substance ever changed from the initial story....the response to which being tremendous support for Wade.
Whether we like it or not, NIL is now the major factor in recruiting. Thus, a coach, any coach, needs donors to fund it. If Wade goes elsewhere he is going to have to build those relationships. I have no doubt he can/will. But the benefit of being in Louisiana and LSU is that he already has those relationships built. He would seamlessly slide back into his role as LSU HC...with the added bonus that the likelihood of him being a "repeat offender" would be almost nil given it is now "legal" to make "strong arse offers".
The biggest caveat would be the AD's willingness to stomach the initial "bad press" from the dying, and every virtue-signaling media. "Bad press" that is ultimately immaterial. Because despite all of their cries...it doesn't matter to the only people who DO matter, the players and consumers of LSU basketball.

I don’t think it would. None of these teams are likely tournament teams. The unfortunate truth is that other bubble teams would have better wins despite possibly being a worse team. They probably need to win their conference tournament.
