I figure this number has to be incredibly low. My thought process for this thread is if the IRS evaluates probable violent areas etc.

Can’t file taxes if I don’t have income

The IRS isn't going to go after people who have essentially no paper trail. That’s considered a waste of resources. It’s a lot easier to look for errors in a small business return than it is for someone who hasn’t received documented income in a decade.

They have no real job, deal in cash(usually small amounts), and have no record of their income. They're not worth it
The irs goes after very stupid rich people and middle to lower class people.

Stringer does
Avon doesn't
Frank Sobotka may have been just a dumb polack but he understood one thing well: "We used to make shite in this country, build shite. Now we just stick our hand in the next guy’s pocket."
Everything worth knowing I learned from The Wire.

Probably a lot. They include 8 kids on their tax return and get a nice fat check from Uncle Sam.

Actually income from illegal activity still is income. And why they get people on tax law.

"Yup"
"Okay just take this phat arse check down to the Rims and Rent-a-Center next door."

Mr. H. D. Cheese may have been referring to himself, In that case, he lives on the noblesse oblige of the more economically fortunate members of society. Assuming he does not exchange goods or services for the money he receives and does not have one or more particularly generous benefactors the donations would fall under the gift tax exemption.

Please tell me they at least have to file to get the child tax crediks, or does that just show up regardless?

Fraud was so much more profitable at a time (maybe it still is) but they used to have their own Tax Season.

Some gang members work regular W-2 jobs to maintain some appearance of legitimacy
If you're asking if they're putting they're filing their black market income?

Probably pretty high, honestly.
Don’t forget this is America, where people that don’t do shite get huge “refunds” that they in turn spend on trips to Disney and go karts.
They go to some random tax store, and in an hour probably get an advance on their refund (for a fee), and a fresh grape soda.

All of them. There's not a hood rat that doesn't get their taxes filed. They make big money on the the income tax each year. Tens of thousands of dollars each dependent. All incoming money is cash. Section 8, WIC, EBT, Obama phone, disability, and still hitting all the food pantries and soup kitchens for to go food to sell out on the street.
Income tax to them is a huge amount of cash instead of a payment.
