I'll wait until the Falcons have a WR coach before putting this to bed.

Hankton will probably be an OC elsewhere next year in college

True. I think Hankton wants to be in the NFL. But, problem is he'd have to take a pay cut to be an NFL WR coach. A big one. He's making north of $900K now. He was the highest paid WR coach in college last year, before we bumped him up to "Co-OC."

College coaching has gotten tougher since the transfer portal and NIL. Not only do you have to recruit HS players but you have to recruit your own because so many teams are tampering. College football has to get more structure or a lot of college coaches will look at the NFL as an option.

I told people this a couple days ago that Morris was gonna take his Rams QB coach as OC and only way Hankton was going there was as WR coach

Let’s be honest. Listen, I LOVE Hankton….but a defensive specialist head coach in the nfl was not about to hire a college wide receiver coach that has never called plays.

Good. I am glad. But he was not going to get an NFL OC job right now. WR coach maybe. But he is better off here.

Agree that the landscape needs to settle down a bit for everyone. Players and parents are in this mess too. I also think that continuing to “recruit” current players while pursuing new ones is not too much to expect from a coach making $1m a year. The NFL can only take so many WR coaches. Plenty of talented guys out there willing to work hard for that kind of $$$. Just sayin.

No way he takes that receiver job. He would be paid less and if he does really well this year, he can go straight to an OC job.

It’s going to kill actual coaching. Will turn into a bunch of Coach primes and 7on7 coaches.
Real x and o coaches will go to nfl

College oc job? Or nfl? Maybe college. He was contacted about being a co-oc at a&m.

I think Morris was doing him a favor, just like the rams last year.

It seems like he wants to be in the NFL eventually.
