Does Congress really need to act on the border?

Has anyone claimed that border control doesn't have enough money, or the tools needed to perform their job? They've just been told not to enforce the rules already on the books. Can the crisis be ended by internal policy alone?
I'm skeptical of any bill passed by congress being pure.

They can, but they won't. They haven't done their jobs for a while now.

They just need to turn border patrol back into, well, a border patrol rather than the concierge service it is under Biden.

Someone better act on the border. While we still have a country left.

I doubt that any action agreed upon by Congress would adequately address the problem. Nothing short of a secure border and mass deportation is acceptable.

No they don’t. The laws already on the books need to be enforced.

The laws are already on the books. Enforce existing law and turn the illegal invaders away.

I started this in response to Manchin's comments about Trump throwing cold water on the border deal. Why do we need a border deal? The only action congress needs to do is impeach anyone that is actively aiding the invasion of illegals.

This. Illegal immigration is already illegal. The executive branch is failing to execute.

Congress has needed to act on the border for 30 years. Can they do anything to immediately rectify this - no. Can the judiciary and law engorcement - yes.
The Admin just appealed to the supreme court to remove razor fence. What officer is going to enforce the laws on the books when he knows the judiciary will railroad him at the behest of the administration. If legislators stuck a thumb in the eye of the Biden regime and passed something meaningful it would force the Admin to back off or risk losing on the single biggest issue ALL polling has identified entering an election year.
If everyone just stays quiet it allows the admin and judiciary to continue this insanity under the moonlight covered in shade thrown over them by the Fake News.
All the legislators would expose their previous inaction to the extreme if they forced the issue and they really dont want to.

It would be great if the President did since it is money of the primary jobs of the position. I'm against the impeachment game but this is one of those times where it should be discussed
Posted on 1/26/24 at 6:51 pm to CubsFanBudMan
Of course not. They need to enforce and deport and then rinse and repeat. Of course that would require an administration that actually wants to enforce the laws, which we currently do not have

If the border was with a conservative country they would act.
Stop voting GOPe.

It will include amnesty. It’s almost a guarantee with the pieces of shite in office.

Congress should act on the border by impeaching Biden and the traitors who have opened it and kept fostering illegal immigration.

The bottom line is they are pushing the envelope and allowing all this till Republicans cave to a BS deal.
Problem is they are blatantly making it more difficult to take care of things as an individual state to protect itself even as current rules/law indicate.
Utter political Bullshitt that is tearing up the country from the inside out.
How anyone in their right mind can accept that and still vote democratically I have no idea.
All I think is they are UnAmerican at this point to not truly try and understand how difficult this can make things for everyone.
No one is safe from this madness.

Any "negotiating" going on isn't about enforcement. It's about amnesty. The GOP is to capitulate on amnesty and take deportation off the table and in return, the dems pinky swear to control the border.
Typical Washington bull shite con job for our benefit.

No, there's nothing more to do except enforce the current laws.
