I wouldn’t risk it. My employer monitors everything over their network. Even has keylogger on all computers.

Just don’t connect to their WiFi going forward, but it’s probably a bad idea to watch Netflix or HBO at work altogether.

I was actually not very concerned but then I started watching an HBO show with a good amount of titties and it crossed my mind that I hope they can’t actually see what I’m seeing. But I’m pretty sure they can’t. I think I just won’t watch HBO on work internet anymore.

Also, can they see what you search?
Some routers will keep a log of URLs visited.
So your Google searches will be stored there in plain text along with all the Websites or services you interacted with. I am not sure how App traffic from a provider like Max would show up. There maybe a few URL’s there but nothing glaring obvious like a Google search. Here is what it would look like:

http(s)://www.google.com/search?q=(search term)&…

I watch HBO Max on my work desktop.

Use a VPN.
This. I use my work computer strictly for work except for the occasional google search for non controversial stuff. I keep my tablet next to me with a VPN running on the company WiFi for other stuff.

They can see it. The question is do they care. Often security doesn’t really care about fricking off. They really just care if you’re leaking company data, Downloading spyware, etc. what industry are you in?

To what extent can they tell what you’re doing?
Everything

I don’t use work computer for anything except work. However I have on occasion watched Netflix and HBO max while on their wifi on my phone. Would that be an issue? I’m also very careful about what I search so I don’t have anything to worry about there.
I mean I put videos on in the background while I work all the time. As long as I get my stuff done, nobody cares.

What VPN’s do y’all use?
Every time I try to get one it’s either expensive or super complicated.

Just do not is all I can say. Misuse of company property is the easiest way a company can get rid of someone. My work computer and cell are strictly work use. Hell, I tell my wife to not even call me on my work cell.

They can’t actually see the titties but can tell what show you are watching and for how long and when. They know. Everything flowing on their WiFi is collected and can be logged. If it’s against the rules, don’t do it. If you don’t know if it’s against the rules, don’t do it. Max is blocked at my company, but Netflix is not. I’m usually eat lunch in my office and will watch an episode of a show during that time. My IT guy has no issues with that. It will be up to your company’s policy. Again, if you don’t know, don’t do it.

What if there are 50 employees all with personal phones connected to a single WiFi network? How do they know it’s your phone?

If you like being employed there is nothing about this that's a good idea unless you've been given consent.

Bro, download whatever you wanna watch on the app at home. Watch at work with wifi off. Also, if you are just browsing sites that aren't risky you should be fine.
