you don’t know what you’re watching. He was trying to grab rebounds against 4 people

Big game, tough loss.
One of those games where every loose ball bounced A&Ms way.

Cook isn’t the guy I want taking that last shot.

All the downvotes for mentioning the coaching sucks. Guys, when players go rogue, thats on the coach. You put them out there. You coach them during the week. If a player does stupid shite, its still on the coach. That was a poorly coached team in rebounding and shot selection, particularly when they just needed to shoot smart.

Yeah, but the rant told them during the week that McMahon is good now so they think they have to defend him. That’s until everyone tells them he’s not good again

Dean plays the paint tougher than Baker, that’s for sure.

Who the bell updated and said they “fought hard”? Fighting hard means your arse wasn’t completely annihilated on the boards.

No. That’s simply a lack of hustle and basic blocking out. Repeatedly.

We gave them some free balls because we wanted to fight with each other on some of the few rebounds we went for and knocked it away from ourselves. Larry, Curley and Moe couldn't have done it better.

We’re basically playing 5 on 4 when Baker is on the floor.

2 big factors here. rebounding obviously TAMU likes to bat the ball out to the guards and it works really well. the bigs are grabbing boards, but the ones they don't get are batted out and grabbed by guards. they are good at it and had great luck as well.

second factor was late game hero ball by cook and wright. first half there was awesome movement and open 3's were found and hit. late second half it was all hero ball off the bounce all the time, and it failed.

That's BS They were hustling, they were just not doing the things they were supposed to. Like

basic blocking out.

You can hustle and still not do things right.

They also took too many quick threes when a little ball movement was opening lanes.

And I really don't understand why Cook is taking a three at the end of the game. Of the guys who have taken more than 10 3PT shots, Ward is the best 3-Pt shooter @ 41.0% followed by Wright @ 36.0% followed by WIlliams @ 34.7%. And those three have taken the most 3 pt shots.

Settle down Nancy, that's lack of execution, not lack of effort.

We lost because of lack of effort and lack of execution.

Dean tried but he was the only one boxing out against 2-4 guys every possession. Reed is lagging in real time, he takes time to process what’s going on. Baker is soft and can’t rebound for shite.

Still don’t know why fountain barely plays.

I’ll tell you one thing, if Chest and Collins play we win this game.

Baker needs 0 minutes going forward, provides nothing that another player can’t do better

Right, like blocking out. That’s not hustling. It’s lazy.

1st half was a lot of Hannibal running point.

Love cook but he’s not the guy. He’s not a KJ Williams. He’s a quality starter and a good SEC player but he should not be getting the shot diet of someone like Cam Thomas.

We need to bring the reins in on him and prevent him from playing hero ball. Multiple wasted possessions taking unnecessarily difficult 3 pointers. He’s gonna get hot and have games where he’s scoring 25-35 points but he can also just as easily be cold.

Jamar, Mdomingue, and McManiac are actually watching the games and paying attention.

I’m convinced half the posters here just show up to blind troll McMahon. A&M is generally dominant on the boards but we still should have won that game even with the rebound line.

Bottom line is Cook & Baker are supposed to be key players + they have been the two biggest liabilities on the team.

Cook gets the same treatment as Adam miller last year. For some reason we are content with them heaving it up. Atleast this year we will bench Cook for a period.

Rebounding is hustle and effort. You just have to want to

It is a lot of effort yes, but it’s also skill and technique. Boxing out, ball recognition, and awareness are skills. We got out skilled, out coached, and out efforted
