I wasn’t impressed with him in summer league but we need some more size and athleticism in the front court and he can give us that. I’d rather see what he’s got than EJ.
Hopefully he can become our Maxi Kleber, that would be a huge win for this team

probably. He was constantly hurt in college.He doesnt have any G league stats on the season

Reading that it seems a bit more not "rock solid".
Also, I don't think he would leave his squad for a 2 way.
He would want an actual roster spot I would think. Do we currently have 1?

Yes, we're at 14. We'll probably dump kira for nothing so we'd have room to sign Karlo and Matt Ryan

sometimes guys look awesome in the SL and G League and not so great in the NBA, even as a role player.
Sometimes guys look average at best in the SL and G League but can succeed as a role player in the NBA b/c they are surrounded by NBA players instead of worthless G League and lower players.
If all you have to do is play team defense and knock down an open shot or two, your role isn't too dificult. If he just hustles, plays good D protecting the rim, and can knock down an open shot, maybe finish at the rim on rim runs, he'll be just fine. He doesn't have to do anythign more than that. easier said than done, but i think he can succeed in the NBA.

The timing is interesting with the trade deadline set for February 8th.
At the very least they are giving him a 2 way which means someone is losing a 2 way. They could just be giving up on someone like JRE or Seabron, but it also could mean they are expecting a trade that would open up some money and roster spots. Kira out for nothing, Matt Ryan to a regular contract, Karlo to a 2 way?
I hope Karlo works out, because if he could do 80% of what he does in Europe here, he'd be a pretty good backup. But he was just so bad at Summer League I find this news surprising.

After seeing Hawkins in Summer League vs the NBA, I don't think you can take a single thing away from it anymore.
So maybe Matkovic blows but we'll never know based on SL.

Washington and Detroit are the two most likely places for Kira IMO as they both have TPE’s they could take him into and wouldn’t cost them anything to evaluate him for a few months and see if they can get anything out of him.
Best case they unlock his potential and they basically get a free lottery pick, worst case he helps them lose more which they probably want anyway.

Yeah I was thinking Detroit.
I'd like to see Karlo with the team, just to see what we have and have him workout with real NBA Players. By summertime you know what you've got

His issues seem to be with the style of play and the rules. He was playing with the mindset of the fiba rules especially early on when he looked overwhelmed. Settled down towards the end of the summer league and looked competent.
He has the ability to be a useable backup big. Mobility and athleticism are there. IQ also based on his scouting reports. Just has to adapt to the speed of the game and the rules for bigs.
It'll be interesting to see how much playing time he actually receives. Makes Liddell contract even worse.

Yeah, I'm hoping we can somehow dump him along with Kira. I mean we play JRE over him already and are talking about bringing Karlo in. He's clearly never going to play here.
