Officially in portal per Thamel. Could follow TRob to Georgia or highest bidder.

Looks like highest bidder. No thanks.

Throw all the money at him
He’s worth every penny

We have to do everything we can to get this kid. Unfortunately I haven’t heard much about going after him. He is ELITE.

Georgia is the likely destination but it sure would be nice to see him in P&G. Being a freshman on the All-American team doesn’t happen that often.

this would be the best fit for lsu with any kid in the portal this year. Looks like Raymond had recruited him to FL

I thought LSU had a lot of safeties on the roster already. Who leaves from this group? Not Toviano.
Toviano
Kylin Jackson
Ryan Yaites
Daughtery
Let's save the money for corners, not another safety.

Yes please, why are we not throwing money around like UT, UGA, and OSU? Are we really lacking that much in NIL?

This baw will be in the NFL. He is worth it

Can’t see us spending big for a Safety right now. If he was a CB or DT I could see it
Posted on 1/17/24 at 9:34 am to fastlane
He's from UGA. His coach went to UGA. I don't see how it's not UGA unless it's an unreal amount of money?

Wrong, he may be one of the few in the portal worth the money,
Imo the Best DB in the SEC- could be best arguably in the nation

If you’d told me at the beginning of the NIL era LSU would have 0 chance of getting players of this caliber out of the portal I would say your crazy. Especially a DB….But yea….LSU has 0 chance lol

We have to do everything we can to get him. Would completely flip the defense around from last year.

He was the best defensive back in the country as a freshman. Worth millions IMO. He changes an entire defense dramatically.
Imagine the upgrade from Major Burns to Caleb Downs
The only other true freshman DB I can think of that made All America was Derek Stingley (Sting was consensus
).

How long before college football gets a GM(money manager) who takes care of all this and the coach coaches?
Seems as though recruiting really isn’t a thing anymore which sucks because that was one of the things that made college football fun to watch. Watch your team build with depth while also getting to see them grow for 3-4 years in the program. Recruits will sign out of high school for the highest bidder then if not a starter or given more money their second or third year they are gone.
I see why Saban said screw this and retired. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kirby is in the NFL soon. It’s basically the NFL without the players having to sign actual contracts. NFL players who excel above others and are marketable get endorsements to supplement their salary.
NIL was supposed to be based off Name Image Likeness but it’s not that at all. It’s just boosters passing out money.
Enjoy your retirement Saban. He was the GOAT when college football was college football.

If we have the shot then you have to take it but I think it’s pretty easy to say he’s headed home to Georgia and a big bag.

This kid is a legit stud. As a true freshman, he was probably Alabama's most consistent and flat out best defensive player, which says a lot when you scroll down their roster.
Unfortunately, for the rest of the SEC, all indications point to Georgia as his next landing spot!
