Tom Corley, a veteran executive with Kraft Foods, has been chosen as president and CEO of Community Coffee.

Corley, who spent more than 30 years with Kraft, will take over as head of Community on Monday. He succeeds David Belanger, who has been CEO of the company for the past 12 years. Belanger announced last year he would retire in June in order to smooth the transition in leadership.

Community Coffee might stay in Baton Rouge, but I'd bet that the CC's Coffee House business moves their operations Dallas or Chicago by year's end.

Dallas I could see, Illinois companies (lost Caterpillar, Boeing, Citadel, Tyson) fleeing at a rate higher than any state.

CCs is not part of Community Coffee. I believe it's owned primarily by Matt Saurage distinct from his family's holding of Community.

I'm not gainsaying your prediction, BTW, but you probably have it backwards.

They still sell the pound packages, but they typically seem to cost more per oz than the 12oz ones for some reason.

Prices have come down after the height of the pandemic. I don't want any corner cutting fricking up the product, or at least just don't go dicking with the Breakfast Blend.

This will not be good. Prices up and quality way down coming your way soon. The big corporate playbook will be in full effect.

I didn't realize that CCs has a decent following in the Houston area. They even sponsor some of the local sports talk shows.

Are CC’s Coffee Houses prevalent outside of South Louisiana and specifically Baton Rouge? I don’t recall ever seeing them elsewhere.

Dallas - sure. Chicago? Doubtful.

BTW I recently went thru a CC's drive-thru. After they charged me $4 for a large black coffee, they stuck this pinpad thing out and asked for a tip.

A tip? On black fricking coffee? CC's paying their baristas waitress scale or something?

That was kinda my point. I don't see them many places outside the boot. BR may have more Starbucks than CC's but not sure.

No, you didn't.

I need caffeine. Your piddly dark roast is weak in that regard.

So far they only have 2 locations outside of Louisiana, one in Texas and one in Mississippi. 44 locations total. Most locations is BR for sure.
