Does Arthur Smith ever get another head coaching job?

Can't figure out how he got there in the first place outside of nepotism/having a billionaire father. His resume is a complete joke. Only OC experience is riding Derrick Henry's coattails for two seasons (with a very average record at that) and is offered a HC job? Total daddy's girl.

If I'm him, I don't work at all

Select RB #8 overall - Check
Select TE #4 overall - Check
Select WR #8 overall - Check
Give the ball to Jonnu Smith and Van Jefferson instead - Check

He was very highly thought of the year he was hired. One of the hottest coordinators in the NFL.

While Arthur Smith sucks arse, the other end of the spectrum is Dennis Allen. The NFL needs more outsiders, not less.

Lol for running Derrick Henry to 9-7 (no conference championship) and 11-5 (lost in wildcard round) finishes?

I still rather like him. I'd def try to grab him as a coordinator if I owned an NFL team.

Nah. He cries if teams score touchdowns in a manner he doesn’t like. He should coach Jr high football and give everyone a trophy.

His dad has a net worth over 6 billion why does he work at all?

My dad is Thurston Howell lll and I work. Gotta make my own money

Some guys aren’t HC material. He’s a good OC if you want your team to run heavy 12 personnel etc. and he should just stay in that lane.

If Hue Jackson got multiple jobs, Smith MIGHT get another if he does a good job as a coordinator somewhere.
But the chances are pretty damn low.

Well I had to ask a few days ago and apparently he had a lot of say in personnel, and hitching his ride to Ridder is what doomed him.

The resurgence of Tannehill was a big deal.
NFL's hottest coaching candidate: Titans OC Arthur Smith reportedly courted by all six teams that need a coach
quote:
His accomplishments on the offensive side of the ball took the Titans as a franchise to another level. He took Miami Dolphins castoff Ryan Tannehill and turned him into the AP Comeback Player of the Year, as Tennessee registered two major postseason upsets to get to the AFC Championship game in 2019. Smith also turned second-round pick wideout A.J. Brown into an immediate star, and then of course helped running back Derrick Henry begin a run which could one day land him in Canton.

Well established run game and AJ Brown at WR likely played more a role than Smith being a qb whisperer. But could see the confusion at that point in time I suppose. He sure didn't do much for Ridder.

It seems that once you are an NFL head coach, you're a made man in the "fraternity" and can always get another job no matter how shitty the first go-round was. Examples are Dennis Allen and Josh McDaniels.

Ridder sucks.
I remember smith being really praised for how he used the TEs, in addition to saving Tannehill off the trash pile.

I took Pitts as my first TE in my fantasy draft this year confident that Ridder would use him multiple times a game as a checkdown/safety net. Boy, was I wrong. He got me some points toward the end of the year, but Jonnu stole a whole lotta points from me this year.
