Let me guess...he wants MONEY!!!
The Capitalist system motivates people to be creative, innovative and productive, in hopes of gaining relative affluence. Like the Ruling Elites always have. Albeit though not without pitfalls (grifters like Bidens, Pelosi, McConnel, et al who game the system), it has still raised the standard of worldly affluence and the leisure time to pursue one's interest as no other system has or can. Spiritual or Worldly.
The worst two of the said 'pitfalls' is that Worldliness may overcome Spirituality, I.e. in that "the pursuit of happiness" is a spiritual condition. "Man doth not live by bread (or money and power) alone...". And "the love of money is the root of all evil"; of course, depending on what the money is used for. Money is like a gun, good or bad according to how it is applied.
And the second (that the Marxists deem immoral) is that the creation of a relatively affluent Middle Class of productive people competing and keeping the fruits of their labors as opposed to having it confiscated and divided up amongst those who slack, by default creates a Lower Class. The Lord said that "the poor will be with you always". There will always be those who seek to slack and cheat on live of the labor of others. Again, think Bidens at the fore. All people in 'Heaven' will not be equal. Equality is fool's gold. Albeit empathy and compassion are not.
Obrador will pay dearly if/when Trump goes back in. Obrador IS "the root cause of migration". His government and country is a narc-state. He should own that before making excuses and demands.

If illegals were stopped itd be the best 20 billion made up dollars we ever spent
Posted on 1/8/24 at 3:58 pm to 14&Counting
Whats worse
Trump not making Mexico pay a few billion for the wall.
Or Mexico making Biden give them cash.
Also - didn’t Kamala get to the root cause of immigration like 4 years ago. She is the border Czar after all.

Kamala said the root cause was money. All we have to do is give Latin American countries a few trillion dollars and they won't need to come here. But you people wouldn't listen to Kamala. Obrador listened and agrees with her.

Why I brought up RIM. That's the best way to do just this.
It may have been Trump's best policy.

It CAN be prevented.
We can't prevent hundreds of billions of dollars worth of drugs constantly flowing into our country. I don't see why we can magically stop this, even with walls.

Post 1000 special forces on the border and eliminate all cartel members/activity and see how he responds. If he praises the efforts he is friendly to our interests. If he has a problem with it then we know he is just a cartel lackey. Win/win.

Educate me on why we need anything whatsoever from Mexico in order to prevent people from crossing into the US.
Mexico is seeing it as an opportunity to negotiate.

Tell me why there’s an inherent need for Mexican cooperation.
There is no inherent need, but it is just geopolitics. If the issue is important to the American ruling class, then getting some sort of concession from a maximalist starting point is just the way geopolitics is conducted.

Because if we simply secured our own border, this becomes Mexico’s problem. Quickly.
But in this situation, will the US actually benefit? The Mexican state, just from its geography, will always have a difficult time imposing its will on certain sections of the country. Anything that increases instability in Mexico is going to lead to an untenable border situation in the long-term.

Doesn’t need to be anyone’s policy. It should be the permanent expectation.
Absolutely no illegal crossings. No one needs to call it anything or sell it as some policy.
Unless 100% of border crossings are at legal points of entry, we are choosing not to secure the border. It has nothing to do with RIM.
There should not be a reasonable physical possibility of crossing into the United States from Mexico outside of a point of entry.

Why are we LARPing like the military can just randomly operate within our borders for civilian issues?
The CIA can't even legally operate within our borders like that.

bullshite. There is nothing inherent geographically limiting Mexico’s ability to govern itself. The Mexican establishment has spent 200 years making itself rich at the expense of 90% of its population. That’s why the place fricking sucks, has always sucked, and always will suck. Mexicans are why Mexico sucks. And I mean European Mexicans far more than Amerindian Mexicans. It’s not about race.
There is a cultural element of total and complete authoritarian dysfunction throughout Latin america though.
We shouldn’t tolerate it.

We have them over a barrel in every way economically. We just choose to tolerate their total ineptitude.
China could never possibly replace the U.S. as an export market for Mexico.

You are completely wrong. Mexico has had a exceedingly difficult time centralizing due to its geography. Firstly, the mountain ranges in the north, the Sierra Madre de Chiapas and the Sierra Madre Oriental, separate the coastlines from the center of the country, which has made centralization efforts difficult. The best evidence of this is the repeated 'centralization' efforts promised by various Mexican presidents. I can get more granular if you like, but Mexican internal instability has its root case because of the geography of the country.

Damn dude, this is straight up retarded. You need to stop being so emotional and start thinking like a state.

Mexico is changing, due to global trade that's developing the population (including the lower rung of natives). That's why emigration from Mexico to the US has cratered over the past 10 years or so.
Mexico is probably our 2nd strongest ally behind Canada. Continuing to help Mexico improve will help us at the same time, and should, ultimately, trickle down to Central America and improve those nations. This is the only way that we actually stop the economic migration of illegals to the US.
