It's literally working in Mexico as we speak.
Not for the purpose we’re discussing—and I was referring to the Central American countries anyway. Mexico’s middle class getting slightly more prosperous does NOTHING whenever their entire political apparatus is situated around cartel economics and enabling northward migration as a matter of policy.

This isn't some theoretical/academic exercise. Mexico has improved dramatically due to global trade and the increase in export-related industries like manufacturing.
That’s nice. Even more reason we should simply secure our border and let Mexico deal with its failed-state neighbors.

Holy shite, you are retarded.
Not nearly as retarded as someone who thinks Mexico will ever be a functional partner in this area.

When that doesn't work and it leads to an even more complicated situation at the border, then what?

Not sure, that would be Mexico’s problem, as everyone involved would be on that side of the line.
Maybe Mexico should secure its own border as well.

Lol. This Mexico stuff has straight up clogged your ability to think straight. You don't understand what you are talking about.

I like Mexico. Sure, it has its problems, but so do we.

Because they aren’t charged with governance here.
Except that there are plenty of Mexican Americans in governance roles.

That’s a laugh. What have we ever done about Mexican cartels?

Lopez Obrador also said he wants the U.S. to provide visas to at least 10 million Hispanic migrants who have been living in the U.S. for 10 years or longer.
Who the frick does he think he is demanding this shite of all things?
If they are bitching about it carry their arse back

Obviously, invoking historical similarities would be lost on you.

Huh? Yes, Mexico being a horrible partner on the immigration issue is top of mind, yes.

If only we had several examples of what occurs when you tie geographic, economic, and migratory interests together. If only.

And? What would that have to do with the inability of Mexicans to govern Mexico?
This isn’t a racial issue. Nothing inherent prevents them from governing. It’s a political cultural issue in Mexico and most of Latin America more broadly.

No. I’ve just grown completely intolerant of this “poor pitiful Mexico is just trying its hardest to help and we need to make concessions to them so they’ll help us better” mentality.

Why don’t you just post your point?
Tell me how I’m totally wrong and how Mexico isn’t responsible for anything at all. Tell me how they’ve been great partners and allies.

Who the frick has said that?
Look, it is clear what is happening with this list of demands. It is exceedingly commonplace in international relations. Why you can't seem to judge that on its own terms is a weird rhetorical strategy that I don't understand, as nothing you've said as really elucidated anything about Mexican-American relations.
Again, we have several corollaries with respect to migrant issues and what can happen if those issues aren't addressed directly. I'm talking about within the last 15 years.

Trump issues war on the Mexican drug cartels in the first week of 2nd term.

This will definitely help. Once the US is as shitty as Central/South America (through one of the many routes were trying including extreme financial irresponsibility) there won't be any illegal immigration.
