Anyone with experience want to weigh in?

We have a 2011 sienna currently and are replacing it.

We may still go odyssey but are looking at SUVs.

I like the V6 Toyota with the physical gear shift and buttons but the 3rd row is more snug than the Palisade.

I don't know a whole lot about the Palisade except for what the internet has said.

3 kids. I'm 6'4" and they are getting tall but still at the age we can make it work and will pass this on to the daughter in a few years when she drives and get something else.

I'd appreciate any input.

Are you comparing a Hyundai to a Toyota?

The wife has a Palisade and loves it. I’m 6-2 and have plenty of room. Second row has tons of room as well. Can’t weigh in on the 3rd row as I never sat back there but kids do all the time. Had a 2014 yukon before and this unit has more space odly enough.

No comparison, longevity, mileage, resale value all favor Toyota.

Yes. I want their V6. I have the 3.5 in my van and it's been stellar.

Which is the holdup. I like the manual shifter a the actual AC buttons.

The third row size is what's limiting. It's a little smaller than the pallisade.

Daughter for now is 5'6" at 13.

Boy is 5'5" at 12.

My youngest is 8 and 5'

They will all see time back there some point potentially.

I had a highlander for a little while in high school/college. I’m 6’3 and honestly that car was plenty spacious. Had the bucket middle seats. It was a great car.

Wife has '24 Palisade and we cross shopped Highlander. There are 3 Highlanders in the extended family. Ultimately, the tech, features, comfort and feel won out. I really, really wanted Hybrid Highlander... two in the extended family and they are phenomenal with legit city MPG. The Calligraphy trim is on-par with Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc. The tech is mind blowing.

We've had the Palisade for 6k miles now and it has been great. No issues so far and I don't really see any major complaints on forums and FB groups. My negatives are poor MPG for a '24 model anything. Pure city driving and it's below 20 MPG. Also, the adaptive cruise is not able to be disabled. I can't stand adaptive cruise in any vehicle.

That being said, you are 6'4" with 3 kids, two are already teens and you've been living the minivan life? I wouldn't get any mid-size SUV. Go with new minivan or full size SUV.

Have you looked at the Grand Highlander which is a little bigger with a Turbo V4

Odessey is pretty good we had a 2014 that was a great road machine for traveling. Good power decent gas economy and never really had any mechanical service. It was our first Japanese automotive product. I was rear ended when. at full stop by someone who was texting in a 45 mph speed zone and never saw me. Witnesses say he was going way faster and never braked....I walked away in good shape but the car was fixable but totaled by insurance. We wanted another one but it was a year or so ago when cars were scarce and not one anywhere on a lot in the Gulf South with none expected for months. Bought a Pilot but in hind site was pretty happy in soccer moms deluxe ride. My other ride is a stinky diesel pup.

Yes.

We ruled it out due to price and I like the naturally aspirated V6.

We were looking for something to maybe get us by until the oldest starts driving and pass it to her. We're also looking to move homes all at the same time. Spending 30k-31k can yield us a monthly note of $300 and a decent highlander or palisade can be had for this range with less than 30k Miles.

I still would jump on a 2020+ odessey if prices are right but the wife said she can make anything really work. I'm concerned with the kids and their height vs longevity.

My minivan is amazing and has been stellar. I'd drive one foif I didn't have kids. Used odyssey are hard to find and the sienna are all hybrids.

Thanks all.
