So when repair costs aren't 200% anymore, the rates will go down.........right?

Vehicles cost more to repair today due to the technology on vehicles today
Don't forget that we've had 2 years of parts shortages that screwed up repair costs. As parts become more available, the costs to repair will go down.
But the premiums likely won't.

Most vehicles have cameras, lane departure signals and adaptive cruise control. When the technology is damaged, cost of repairs are up 200% in some cases.
I think some manufacturers are moving these instruments and hardware to the top of the windshield where they are less prone to minor collisions. Most still put those radars and cameras right behind the grill or bumper cover.

My shite has gone up 30% in one year. That’s two increases in one year. My car is 7 years old, no accidents and no tickets in the last 10 years. I work from home and hardly drive my car. My shite is still going up.
I am now paying $45 less a month for insurance than I did when I bought my car 7 years ago. Wtf.

Ours is $100k, but $50k is the max you can get without having to go to a jury trial
The elusive $50 per person pre-trial/ $100 per person jury trial policy. I’m surprised they still write those.

It really doesn't matter. Insurance companies' will charge you as though you have them anyway. Corrupt, incompetent politicians are the reason insurance rates are up. It has noting to do with cost.

Louisiana has the highest auto premiums in the country.
This is why it is cheaper to have a rental in Texas and obtain insurance there for your vehicle while living in BR.
- buy a vehicle in Texas
- po box in Texas
- vehicle insured in texas
- drivers license in texas
- setup all all billing to be electronic via email
- WIN WIN WIN

Over the last several years insurance companies have paid out more in claims than they have collected in premium, especially in auto liability claims.
Just wait until the next regional natural disaster. The majority of S La folks are going straight to legal representation for their claims process. They all have been screwed in the last 5 years on claims and they've learned how insurance companies really work. After insurance companies start realizing how much their legal fees are going to be routinely it's really going to get out of hand.

Don’t forget about reinsurance

Logic won’t be tolerated here. These dumb fricks think insurance rates should stay flat from 1995 to 2024.

Anybody looking for a deal, I switched from Safeco to Progressive this week and saved about $1400.

Workers comp is going down because it is the most profitable line of business. We are seeing year over year decreases

What really is the kick to the balls about this statement is we were told about the new technology that would reduce accidents and lower rates. They set us up to get fricked on all of it including maintenance. You can’t hardly work on this new stuff, even if you know what you’re doing.

Same here I was pissed my Homeowners insurance went from 1200.00 to 2550.00 from last years. Made my mortgage payment go up $300 a month

A few more reasons for out of control auto insurance rates in Louisiana:
Louisiana does not have a cap on passenger injury claims
Uninsured motorists
Stolen cars/fraudulent claims

You could have just said the insurers have been losing at the track.

We all know insurance is a scam and insurers are crooks. Don’t play if you can’t pay. It’s a risk they take, as do we paying premiums for years and never needing coverage. It’s not my fault auto and home repairs cost more. My car is paid for and doesn’t have most of the newer stuff in it.
