Anybody know the story behind the closing of 2 Brothers Gas Stations/Stores in Metairie? One on Airline and the other on Jefferson.

On the other hand, Tastee Donuts on Clearview and W. Metairie seems to have closed for a couple of days, but is now back open looking normal.

Brothers sold to Mountain Express Oil a couple years ago. Mountain Express filed for bankruptcy protection a few months back and has closed stores across all brands including brothers and some Pilot travel centers.

Hijacking to ask about Metairie openings...

Some Facebook rumors about Crazy Johnnies returning? Anyone see those posts? It seems at a minimum, someone is producing and selling the CJ's steak sauce and BBQ shrimp seasoning.

I'm guessing the talk of a CJ restaurant return is just marketing for the products.

No way Crazy Johnnies can recapture what they had, but I will try it several times.

Excited about Gulotta's Italian place.

Around 20-25 years ago this place was one of my favorite places to eat. I wasn't making a lot of money so to go there and get that steak filet sandwhich with some BBQ shrimp dipping sauce on half price bottle of wine night was a nice treat.
I think I remember there potatoes being really good as well.

Bunchie, I need your top 5 restaurants in Metairie

But the kicker is it can’t be a poor boy place, Italian or Asian centric.

What impressed them the most? The wine list headlined by the Meomi portfolio?

LOL.
I went to Austin’s and then Ruth Chris’s last fall within a few weeks of each other and I will choose Austin’s every time. Even with the crap wine selection

Just to be honest, I haven't been to Austin's in many years. Maybe close to a decade

I've heard decent things about Garrison but haven't been there.

Seiji's Omakase is supposed to be pretty good but doesn't fit within Lester's parameters
