College football fans should not accept this crap they are forcing on us.

There are no more bowl games, no more quality of play.
College football is dead. Bury it already.

Amazing just how many things in this country have turned to shite since November 3, 2020.

I mean, USA Boxing just said it's fine for men to fight women. He's not wrong.

Its refreshing to see that so many people are pissed instead of just accepting this garbage "entertainment".
Disney went to shite, ESPN went to shite and now CFB has gone to shite as its overlords.

You are an old timer
Like me.. I used to look forward to New Year’s Day with a passion. Not anymore. The almighty dollar has destroyed the sport I used to love.

That'll last about as long as it takes for a broad to die in the ring.

Trump court was all for NIL.

It really is ridiculous. There’s only 4 teams that will field their entire team to play the games. The other games have turned into essentially all star/pro bowl type games

I can’t argue with this. Mainly because you’re right

Why do people think I'm so old?
I just appreciate history.
An 80s kid. Gen X.

We wanted a playoff. Now we got a playoff
Maybe you want the old system back where top teams avoided each other this time of year

2010, Citizens United ruling..
But this is the wrong board for that.

I wanted a playoff of the top six conference champions that was it.

At the beginning of this season everyone complained about the TV commercials. I did too. Now people are complaining about opt outs. Here's an idea - stop watching the games, or at least reduce viewing time by a large amount. It will help. I promise.
I have never watched so little CFB in my life. In the past from 9am to 2am and often beyond, it was non-stop for me on a Saturday. Not any longer. I refuse to deal with the clock changes so they can keep games just as long but with more TV commercials. That seemed like utter disrespect and contempt for the fan so it was easy for me to tune out.
My lack of attention made this an enjoyable season. If I tried to grind through this nonsense I would have been angry the whole year. I pretty much kept up with scores and if a game was close in the 4th, I would watch. That's just about all I did. Other than that I would catch a minute here and there, that's all. Watched a ton of King of the Hill this year.
I encourage everyone else to do the same. It helped. Opt outs don't bother me either. Let the market do its thing. Eventually the advertisers and NIL people will realize they get zero ROI. When that happens you'll see the power brokers in CFB make some meaningful changes. You can speed that along by not watching as much.
I heard Urban Meyer say the 12 team playoff would be great and help this opt out thing - it's not going to help. It might keep one or two more teams from having opt outs, but those in the bottom half of the seedings know they have no shot and those players will opt out. Too much of a consequence for them to play, for zero chance of a reward. Non-playoff bowls are going to get further wrecked by playoff expansion, as will the last week or two of the regular season. Just wait till they erode Rivalry Week - shite might really hit the fan then.
Let's just hope the market takes care of things and remember that we are the market at the end of the day. No viewers, no money. No money, big changes happen.
There's a reason schools like Nebraska fill the stadium despite a couple decades of trash football - hell they will fill the football stadium for a volleyball game. The fans are the center of gravity in college sports. If you change your behavior, you change the sport. If the product is not what you want, then don't watch it - I assure you they will change the product to make it what you want to watch.
