Thank you. We've gotten 2 or 3 of these types of posts a day since bowl season started. If these people weren't watching, I don't think they would be posting about the quality of the games

A post blaming Biden for the transfer portal and NIL has 68 upvotes and 15 downvotes? Jesus Christ this board needs to be euthanized.
First this isn’t a political issue at all. Second, to the extent it is, Trump’s Supreme Court and federal judges are the ones handing athletes legal victory after victory forcing the NCAA to allow NIL and unlimited transfers. And Republicans like Desantis were some of the politicians at the forefront of the paying college athletes movement.
Don’t get me wrong plenty of democrats support it too, but to somehow blame this is on Biden is legit a sign of mental illness. Look in the mirror people.

I think the upvotes are a reflection of strong agreement with the post itself; not necessarily a connection between Biden and CFB opt outs. Sure it’s the wrong board for it but that just shows how strongly people feel about it.

By and large they've done a pretty damn good job picking the teams. It'll get easier next year. Or do you prefer a bunch of journalists picking the national champion where the top teams don't face off head to head? That's dumb.
The playoff is unrelated to NIL and the portal. Both the NIL and the portal were coming either way..

“We” didn’t all want a playoff.
I remember the old system where bowl bids were handed out as early as late October. I remember BYU playing a middling Michigan team in the Holiday Bowl for a “National Championship”. I remember the Bowl Alliance and 2-3 other iterations until college football finally got it right with the BCS.
Taking Oklahoma over UsC in 03 was a flaw in the system. But Alabama going in 2011 over Oklahoma State was outright manipulation, and it was done intentionally to bring about the playoffs. At that point, it because all about money and no longer the sport.
