Lily was almost as big of a bitch as Ted and that's saying something.

Skip the whole last season

First couple seasons are great.
Season 1 Victoria was perfect.

2007 called...
Think about how long ago that was and how many people here probably didn’t relate to a late 20s/early 30s comedy. Friends stays popular for the same reason. Feeling old yet?

It’s one of the last good sitcoms. Seasons 1-4 are very rewatchable. The later seasons were hit or miss but I enjoyed them overall.

When it was “on,” it was a great sitcom. When it tried to have filler or stretch things out, it suffered bigtime. The last season was absolute trash and the finale basically ruined the rewatchability of the entire series.

I can't watch reruns of the show because of how it ended. I just start getting angry thinking about it.

It really is fantastic. It limped to the finish line and the whole last season was crap, but man its early run was 10/10. I think it's really underrated as a whole simply due to the end and that kind of soured the whole thing for everyone, similar to GOT.

Ted's/Barney's hookups/dates were an amazing assortment of beautiful women- up there with Seinfeld.

The Barney + Robin pairing was ridiculous.

It was stupid from the beginning and they kept making it worse.
They should have NEVER done the Barney/Robin thing, ever.

That pairing and Joey/Rachel on friends have never sat well with me. I understand that it's just a TV show and things get repetitive and youv'e gotta spice things up a bit...but it just seems so untrue to real life.
If my best friend in the world was dating a girl for like 5 years and then they broke up (as in the case of Friends, I know in HIMYM they didn't date as long but you still knew that they should be with each other), there is Z-E-R-O chance I would have ANY desire to then date that girl. It's just not done if you actually value that friendship at all.

The problem of the ending was that they had always shown the kids from the very start and they looked identical to Robin and Ted. So instead of going with the obvious, they tried to subvert expectations by slipping in the “real“ mother , who had similar features to Robin.
And while I don’t think the story landed with many viewers, the actress & character was really a great find. But in the end, she just came off as a Poochie, from Itchy and Scratchy.

It’s hard to sustain the quality of a show for more than a few seasons.

Prime Barney was an upper tier TV character.
