Oh, good. One thing we need more of on the streets of our Louisiana towns and cities is murderers. We don’t have nearly enough. Maybe we can supply them with some guns and drugs, just to help them get their bearings after their release. I have always heard it’s a tough adjustment after you get released. Anything to help them transition more smoothly.

JBE
What a complete and total frickup this man has morphed into.
Pardoning 1st degree murderers should be illegal.

I think some people are confused on the death sentence commute. It means they aren’t on death row anymore. Most will still be locked up forever. Yes. Some may get parole. They aren’t all just being released into society.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Only six out of the 41 in that list were even eligible for death row.

<----knows someone on the pardon list
Not a violent offender to be sure
JBE, honor code, check's in the mail, I'm from the government and I'm here to cum in your mouth....

Keep tabs on these convicted, yet pardoned murderers. They will soon be front page news.

Nathan E. Arnold - Lafayette - 2nd degree murder
Got into a fight with a guy at a bar, guy pulls out knife and stabs him. Arnold went to his vehicle and retrieved a firearm. As he approaches entrance of bar again, guy comes out with knife in his hand toward Arnold, who shoots and kills the guy with the knife. Because he went to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm, and proceeded to return to the bar he was charged with 2nd degree murder. His sentence was commuted from life to 60 years and he made parole several years ago. He was given unsupervised parole after 10 years of compliance and no violations.

He pardoned Jake Ortega? Is that the same dude from the Highland Road park fight twenty something years ago?

None of them should be getting out
They all would have killed again.
Well except for the rape one, but that’s a tricky case because there would need to be proof of that. If you were raped as a kid, then got a bit bigger a few years later and killed your rapist, you need more therapy than jail time.

Would be interesting to see the crime summary on each of these.

I would imagine most are not as cut and dry, but isiah jones did get railroaded in my parish.
He was likely guilty, but he didn't get a fair trial.

No governor should be allowed to do this without new evidence presented.
