Feels like this might be the caliber of job that Matt Campbell has been holding out for. He had a nice bounceback season; 7-5 at Iowa State is like going 10-2 or 11-1 at Michigan. This seems like the right time for him to make a move and Michigan would be really dumb to not at least gauge his interest.

Why would he leave when he has it easy at Michigan?

The old bowl system and BCS was good for Michigan to get in to big bowl games. That was a cupcake job.

Now with playoffs and going to 12 teams - I doubt they make it far. They probably lose against anyone in top half of SEC.

Can’t escape the SEC anymore. So why leave it?

Elite teams nowadays are terrified of fricking up a single recruiting class on an outsider, it'll be someone from within to keep steering the ship without losing recruits. Like Ryan Day
