Rewatching "Scrubs"

I swear, I've probably seen every episode (save maybe the final season) several times and it still remains funny and powerful.
An absurdist comedy that still goes hard on the emotional beats and yet still makes it work somehow.
While the later episode with Brendan Frasier, and the one where Cox loses his patients, are probably the two most powerful for me, my wife and I got to the one where Molly Shannon plays an ambulance driver that Cox has to ride shotgun with.
**Spoilers**
During the episode Shannon is picture-perfect playing the "annoying person who never seems to shut-up", all the way to the point where Cox is given a baseball card they found in the ambulance after it's wrecked, and all the clues she gave about her son click. Walking back in to find her crying, he asks about her son and she reveals he died in an accident (the only info we're given about what happened to him) and the reason she became a paramedic was that, despite not being able to save her son, she found them "amazing".
In about 20-30 seconds of screen time they turn a stereotypically annoying "never shuts up" character into a deeply sympathetic person who it becomes clear that she talks is because she's desperate to fill the void of losing her child.
This freakin' show man. The guest stars, the about face moments, the absurd comedic moments one second and deeply emotional moments the next. All while providing plenty of sexy moments too...

My favorite show
Does such a good job of transitioning between comedy and drama
Also one of the most medically accurate shows out there, especially in regards to how medicine in a hospital works

Turk: You think my name is Turk Turkleton?
Bob Kelso: And Mrs Turkleton! The Turkletons!

The wife and I did a rewatch last year. It still holds up exceedingly well.

I absolutely love this show one of my all time favorites so hopefully I don’t get too much hate for this…
A lot of the characters really became caricatures of themselves in later seasons, JD being the best example.
The best example is JD and sports. In the first season JD tries to go to a Bulls game with Turk, talks sports a little, explains to Elliot what a “perfect game” is etc… Later seasons he is completely ignorant towards sports in a comical way and his goofiness is WAY overplayed.
Same with the janitor, Kelso, Turk, etc…. All of their quirks get way overplayed in later seasons and then they ground them occasionally in more serious episodes

The Brendan Fraser episodes where he's Jordan's brother Ben are some of the best television going.

The supporting characters make the show. They're all funnier than the main cast, save Cox.

One of my favorite exchanges...
Carla: "Why is there a pancake in the silverware drawer?"
Turk: "You mean, why is there silverware in the pancake drawer? wass-uh!"
YouTube clip
And then Kelso another time saying, "You got brinner? Daaaaamn, Turkle-dawg"
