Memories of Wisconsin

The year was 2016. Brandon Harris was QB and many, like myself, were eager to see how much he had improved in the off-season. After all that excitement leading up to our opener, ill never forget one of Harris's first passes of the game.... a pass out to that flat to Fournette.....10 feet over his head and out of bounds. It was at that point i knew, the season was over.

Josh Boutte close lining the Wisconsin DB still cracks me up.

The trip was great getting to watch the game at Lambeau Field and see the Wisconsin Jump Around ( kind of cool). This game began Mile’s coffin nails. I was at Auburn later that year when Les’s clock management put the last nail in his coffin. We were much better than either one of those teams that beat us.

By far the best hit of the game.
Got to watch the future World Series champions Chicago Cubs play at Wrigley before the LSU game.

I was there.
Except for the outcome of the game, it was a great trip and a chance to visit an iconic stadium. I can say the same about the UCLA game in the Rose Bowl. We will avenge both losses in 2024.

The melt after that game was one of the most epic in the history of TD...

My trip to see LSU play Wisconsin in Madison when I was a student at LSU (early 1970s) was epic. I have never, in any venue before or since, seen such fan animosity toward our team and fans as that day in Madison. When our team ran onto the field, they were pelted with booze bottles, beer cans, cold drinks, fruit, etc. It was pretty embarrassing for them.

quote:That's true. However the animosity was based on the well-publicized fact that LSU's team was 100% melanin-challenged at the time. The UW student newspaper made a huge deal about this during the preceding week. Lora Hinton would only sign with the Tigers the following year, in 1971. We hosted Wisconsin the same year and after the game the Badger football players made the point that the LSU players were very sportsmanlike and didn't deserve the criticism of the previous year.

Lived in Madison Wisconsin for one Summer, performing with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps on their Summer D.C.I. Tour. (That's my Wisconsin background)
Mostly lived on the Bus and performance site practice locations at area high schools and colleges. We stayed overnight in Dorms and on high school gym floors in sleeping bags.
I'm sure only TBA's and current GBFTL's on here know about D.C.I. and the Madison Scouts.....

Les promised changes, and from the start of that game, we knew he lied again….. and now we know what he was busy doing instead of fixing our “ damn strong football team”…….
Going to Lambeau was an awesome experience with my Son…..
the Wisconsin fans were cool, humble, and liked to drink beer as much as us….
we drank the stadium bar, Brett Favre’s and multiple other bars around the stadium out of beer that weekend….
they never appropriately prepare for us, do they?

Went to the 2014 and 2016 games against Wisconsin. 2014 was high drama with how it ended on the Diarse and Hilliard TD's. Being at Lambeau in 2016 is one of my fondest sports memories. The game itself was absolutely pathetic and Les should have been fired on the field for that shite.

I'll never forget being at Lambeau & waiting to see what our first play call was - hoping to see play action with our new "dynamic" offense.. Nope, toss dive left to Fournette.
Everyone we were with just burst out laughing.

Wasn’t that the summer of big promises of how they’d open up the offense?
First play from scrimmage….toss dive.

Yea true lol. The last 3 years of Les’ tenure were nothing but promises of how the offense would be opened up. Nothing ever changed of course. He might as well have just shot us all the bird at that point. What a sad legacy he will leave.
