Usually if it’s a different species from chicken - it’ll say on the container.
I’ve never seen duck eggs not labeled ‘duck’

Egg is not synonymous with chicken.
It is though. Colloquially for sure, and it's pervasive enough that it extends beyond that. That's why when you have a duck or quail or T-rex egg, you point it out.

This is a departure from your original point btw

not a bad joke at all, and it is very common (and disturbing" to talk to someone in person about a product and then later seeing an ad for the same product on your phone.

I think it is a valid question...
See "Almond Milk"
In today's world, we have to make a differentiation between lab grown stuff, what constitutes maple syrup, what percentage of by products are allowed to be able to call it the original product........
Maybe we should want to know if some android, hybrid machine/animal pooped out some science project to be hereafter sold as "eggs."

And all I'm doing is talking about something that may or may not meet the legal definition of a chicken egg.
Is there a legal definition of a chicken egg?

As I respond to your post. I'm looking at a different brand of eggs in the grocery store and nowhere on this container either is the word chicken.

This thread inspired me to make myself a four-egg omelette with ham, cheese, and onions. It was really good, and I love (chicken) eggs.

I really don't know. Probably.

Hatchery chickens are fed a much better diet than chickens used for food eggs. Hatchery eggs and store eggs are so different its like they don't even come from the same animal

If I ever need a self esteem boost, I come on here and read threads started by Pansy Fackler, BabyTac, Sidewakeside and FLTech.

I love eggs but I wonder who was the first person that thought it would be a good idea to eat something that came out of a chickens butt.

Something makes them noticeably different. Store eggs have yolks the color of a lemon and hatchery eggs are the color of an orange. Not to mention the much thicker shells. Side by side a 3 year old could tell the difference

The “guess what” thing led to further investigation.
