Nobody said that. Part 2 wasn’t even approved until after Part 1 was released.
Before you call yourself a prophet on the delay of Messiah, Denis has already said he will make a non-Dune movie next before finishing the trilogy.

There is no part 3 to *this* movie. Part 2 concludes the film version of the original Dune book. The third film, if there is one, will cover the 2nd book of the series - Dune Messiah.

No one said this. It was known they hadn't filmed part 2 (or even approved it), so it obviously wasn't coming out that soon after.

Not only that but Villeneuve pretty openly said in interviews that he didn’t want to film back to back either to let things breathe inbetween.
