Or, as we see on the news a lot lately, teachers who nurse.
Seems we’ve stumbled on quite the conundrum.

There’s a major teacher shortage if you want to experience the same benefits.

Most insufferable women - Teachers or Nurses?
I find men arent nearly as dramatic that work in these professions.

Every nurse I know is a drama queen. During covid they would parrot anything they saw on facebook and pawn it off as their own.

What school district is off for a month for Christmas? All the ones here (private included) aren’t off until the Friday before Christmas and go back the week after NYE.

I worked with a lot of teachers, my mom was a teacher, and my ex was a teacher. The problem with teachers is a lot of them lack the hustle and just want to coast.
I've never heard anybody say "it's not my job" as much as my wife's teacher friends do. You're a teacher, just because you normally teach 4th grade doesn't mean you won't get asked to help out with 5th grade when Susan gets in a car wreck.

It has always been two weeks in EBR. This year, it is closer to three, but our current (and soon to be former) superintendent is a moron.
Most teachers are driven from the profession for one of the following:
Blame from parents for every single deficiency their child has, despite not receiving any support from home.
Abusive behavior from administrators who basically fled the classroom. I found an old eval for the admin in charge of mine. He scored a 1.5/5 on his last evaluation before moving to administration.
Students who are completely apathetic about their education.
:doublebird: Students who are physically and verbally abusive to teachers and receive no repercussions. My wife gets a "frick you, white lady" at least three or four times a week. Kids are too afraid of me to try that shite, but I'm 6'2" and have a slightly pyscho persona.
In spite of the narrative, most teachers outside of union hacks do not leave the profession because of shitty pay. If pay is a concern, they typically relocate. Teachers typically do not get paid during the summer. Most that I know have part time summer jobs, or side hustles during the school year.
With that said, yes, there are some horrible teachers out there. This is where pay comes in; You get what you pay for. Better districts almost always pay more.

wow both professions that have a huge shortage and without either society would come to a halt. Will be interesting in the next decade when there's not nurses for ER rooms and not enough teachers so every kid will be virtual and parents have to figure out how to watch them every day

No but they are indoctrinating then with leftest ideals of Trannys, atheism, and destruction of the nuclear family, and white straight males are public enemy #1.

Both are critical to maintaining society. A teachers job is infinitely easier though. Nurses are the only thing standing between sick folks and death...doctors don't have a clue what is going on in a hospital or in their own offices about 90% of the time...but let a nurse make a mistake in either and they will catch hell.

the only people that deserve more than $15/hour are doctors, lawyers, engineers, and business owners

I think what makes my blood boil with teachers is getting a peek behind the curtains and finding out that they do in fact have their favorites and kids that they loathe. Of which they will perform all sorts of mental gymnastics as to why they treat those kids the way that they do, doing everything in their power to make the kids lives that they hate more miserable but then turn around and say that it’s “all for the kids” without a hint of irony.
