Have not been there in several years but I was very impressed with Salt Lake City when I was there.

Spokane, Boise, Salem, and maybe Grand Rapids.

Columbus wasn't too bad considering it's surrounded by towns that have had major rust belt issues (Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Cincy).

Pittsburgh is far better than most people think, but it has some real problems too though.

We were just there for a week over thanksgiving and I would agree on these points. And everything is still super expensive with really high taxes. So while there's natural beauty and charm, I'm not sure I'd say its a really well run big city.

I haven't been down there since the homeless encampment ban. Did that have any impact? We were there for a Padre game in June and we had to zig zag back and forth across the street because the bum's tents would block the sidewalk.

I am impressed by Seattle. Nice buildings, clean, safe. The homeless situation didn't seem significant when I was there in August.
the retarded right wing media blows it way out of proportion. As if any of the idiots that watch them ever travel anyway.

Boston, MA, but you have to deal with far left population. City is nice though. Same with Providence, RI.

Greenville, SC, also comes to mind.

I've spent 3 yrs in Billings, Mt and I have never once felt unsafe and the locals were great. The 3 yrs I was there, I maybe seen a handful of black people. But they do have a big population of feather Indians which are majority of the homeless. If it wasn't so damn cold in the winter, I'd move there for good but their winters are brutal.

Love Greenville. I can't speak for the local leadership, but I've always thought Charlotte, NC was clean and safe
