Nicest, safest, and most well-run big cities in the USA?

I know the common theme for large urban areas is dangerous, broke, and mismanaged. Some will use more colorful language. Out of curiosity, what are some cities that people would say are desirable major population areas? Say, minimum size 100,000 people.

Metairie has a population of 143K. No crime in my neighborhood or surrounding neighborhoods, good places to eat, cops show up quick when called. Insurance sucks tho due to those degens next to us.

salt lake city is great in the winter when the bums leave town. I really like it there.

San Diego always ranks high. According to the San Diego Union Tribune, "Chicago nabbed the top spot — it’s been there seven years in a row — while San Diego comes in ahead of Milwaukee, New Orleans and San Francisco in the readers survey released Tuesday."

Rochester, MN probably deserves a shout if you’re going strictly on well-run towns.
