Well he wouldn’t be the staring QB in the playoffs so it shouldn’t have had any effect on the committee

You’re right

Alabama is gonna murder those nerds
they don't ask McCarthy to do anything special and he gives them exactly that, nothing special

Go rewatch that Alabama USF game. Alabama isn’t a top 4 team.

I get it. Everyone has some bad wins. But the overarching fact remains that FSU just isn’t the same team without Travis. That was illustrated perfectly in the game last night.

I’m sure OSU wasn’t the same team in 2015 when they beat Bama with their 3rd string QB.

They definitely should have prioritized that over winning the game with dominant defense. Who wants to just win games.

should the committee have told FSU to go “impress them” rather than win?

In a normal world, ‘Damn, they just beat the #14 team in the country with their 3rd string redshirt Freshman QB making his first start!’ would bolster their position.

We aren’t there obviously.

So the committee’s decision dictates:

Bama > FSU (without JT) > UGA

They were playing their 3rd qb. Their backup would have been available.

And they win a championship game with that qb.

Some of these supposed LSU "fans" are a fricking embarrassment. Excusing Bama, but doing mental gymnastics to say FSU should be out. "Eye test" doesn't work when you consider Bama should've lost to AU. That was moronic defense and even then it was still a miracle play on 4th and a mile.

Because Michigan is trotting out good QB play?
I say this again, people pointing to FSU's lack of good QB play are not paying attention to what Michigan's QB has not done all year, which is actually play well at all.

In this case, they are about even bc McCarthy is not asked to do much and in turn does not do much at all. Just like Glenn for FSU last night.

Did everyone forget 2015 when a 3rd string Cardale Jones beat Bama?

Terrible comparison. Cardale Jones destroyed Wisconsin in their conference championship game when Wisconsin was favored. They left no doubt. FSU put on an abomination last night leaving loads of doubt they could compete against the top.

Vs North Alabama????

To be fair, UNA was winning 13-0 BEFORE Travis was injured.

If anything, it supports the argument that FSU is capable of performing with a backup QB.

If we beat Georgia. Thats 3 wins over SEC teams this year. None at home.

It wasn't just yesterday. Their #2 QB went 12/25 for 124 yards and O TDs against our defense.

Michigan’s offense had less than 300 total yards in 3 of their last 4 games. The only game they were over 300 was against OSU where they had 340 yards and were outgained by OSU. Why does Michigan get a pass with their crappy offense, but FSU gets eliminated because of theirs?

Michigan should not be getting a pass yet they have been

McCarthy has put up absolutely pedestrian stats and most of the time Michigan doesn't even need him to throw a pass bc of the level of competition they play yet FSU is being penalized for trotting out QBs who put up the same type of stats that McCarthy does?
