IMO, it’s simple. There are 3 undefeated teams from P5 conferences. Regardless of what their schedule looked like, they got it done.

Michigan
Washington
FSU
Texas/Bama

What makes this one interesting is Texas beat Bama early in the season. But also lost to an Oklahoma team that isn’t that good. Does the committee put less value on losses early in the season? Or do they put more value the strength of the conference? I can see it going both ways.

Personally, I think we’re looking at the first time with no SEC team in the playoff.

Texas should have lost to Houston as well if not by several bad calls on refs.

I don’t see how Bama jumps a team with the same record who beat them.

How do you justify that?

It is really simple. Texas is in because all games matter. And before people start whining about Alabama getting left out, they should’ve taken care of business against Texas. They also had to sweat out on last-minute Hail Mary against Auburn so people talking about close games of other teams need to look in the mirror. Nobody from the SEC belongs in this championship

The Texas/Bama head to head is definitive. It’s FSU/Bama.

After sleeping on it, I think it will be FSU.

All that said and painful to even bring up…. they did make us play Bama again.

I agree FSU should be in but every talking head on ESPN is saying they are out. The two on the radio this morning are saying FSU may be deserving but they are out of luck.

FSU will be absolutely boat-raced by anyone they play if they get in.

The committee will look dumb when this happens and the ACC is not as powerful as the Big 10 or the SEC.

FSU will be left out and probably get boat-raced in a New Year’s Day Bowl.

You guys are conveniently forgetting the USF, 7&5, RKansas, and Auburn games when using the ‘eye’ test for Bama.

It’s down to FSU and Bama. Texas is in.

I think they have to reward FSU with a spot as an undefeated Power 5 champion. I realize it’s unarguable that Bama would win vs. FSU with their current QB situation, but the results on the field this season have to matter.

Bama just happened to pick an en extremely unlikely season to lose a non-conference game to Texas.

So glad we’re expanding to 12 next year that will eventually become 16 teams.

Georgia would trump Bama and Texas. Don’t say, but Alabama beat Georgia. Georgia is best team, period.

It’s like 2011 all over again. Go figure, it revolves around the same dumb arse team.

If it’s down to Texas and Alabama, then it’s a pretty simple choice. It’s Texas. They have the same record and they beat Bama at home by double digits.

Watch the committee refuse to pick either and put Ohio State in

I feel like it is coming down to Bama and FSU. Texas will get in due to its win over Bama and conference championship.

FSU - Won a P5 conference, but is not one of the four best teams, which is what the CFPC has to consider.
Bama - Won the SEC, but has one loss.

Tough decision. Either is both correct and incorrect.
