Has anyone else noticed a trend among Pizza Places with undercooking their pizzas?

This issue seems to be happening every time I have a slice of a major brand’s pizza. Across locations and even cities, it’s been this way for a while now. Like they’re all pulling out of the oven a minute early. I get that major brand pizza has been crap for a long time but it’s somehow gotten inedible.

A lot of it is a switch from fresh to frozen ingredients. It adds a lot of water to the dough, increases the required cooking time, and the middle isn’t done until the crust is cardboard.

Agreed. Papa Johns has been the worst offender IMO.

I literally just picked up some "New York Style" pizza from a place that's supposed to be really good an hour ago. shite was bland and COVERED in mozzarella. I've been disappointed with a lot of pizza places lately, especially when ordering thin crust.

Many folks need to learn how to pull out one minute earlier.

I'll see myself out!

Back when I ate pizza, the Pizza Hut in China Spring, TX. did this all of the time. I think it’s eager drivers trying to get a tip taking it out of the oven before it’s ready.

Buy premade crusts and make pizza at home.

We’ve stopped ordering pizza out almost entirely.

No reason to eat chain store pizza here in NJ. We got a goto spot.

Some fresh out of college beancounter figured out how many more they can push thru and sell per day by doing this. And when customers don’t come back he’ll get a promotion

I worked for a pizza place during high school. A lot of times, when they're busy, they'll turn up the speed on the conveyor belt, if they use that type of oven.
