I admit I did not. I hoped he would improve his downfield passing, but I was not prepared for the quantum leap he has made

Kudos to him. He put in the work!

Key phrase here folks.

He’s asking about spring/ preseason 2022. Only Jayden’s family could have envisioned this.

Nope, saw him having some improvement this year but not this much. It has been truly an incredible year for him.

I’ve never thought any player was gonna win a Heisman when he first arrived at his school. Dumb question.

End of last year, I thought he had a puncher’s chance if he returned.

No. But I didn't see Burrow blowing up either.

Hell no, I didn't even think he was going to win the starting job, so credit to him and the coaches for seeing what I could not.

I would add that I didn't think Joe would either when we got him. No more so after his Junior year. One could make an argument, and a good one, that JD5's junior season was better than Joe's.

I posted an ESPN article before the season that speculated on whether JD could make a Burrow-like jump and got a lot of heat for it.

I thought he "could" win it, but I wouldn't say I thought he "would" win.

Nope. I have gladly eaten my crow gumbo! I can't remember any player improving more.

The coaches involved and JD deserve all the accolades coming their way. The changes are mostly mental. Something switched him from a run first QB that seemed afraid to pass the ball to an extremely aggressive player that attacks the defense!

I wanted him benched after the Tennessee game last year. Then he won me back. Then I wanted him benched after FSU this year.

I don't think I'm a good evaluator of talent.

He was showing the same bad habits in the FSU game as he was last year I don’t think or fault anyone for being upset. He took off after that game whatever needed to click got knocked into him that game.

The odds are driven by people (fans) placing bets. The odds last night during the Oregon game were all over the place. They were literally changing with every Oregon possession. That was a result of silly people making knee-jerk reactions to every Bo Nix pass. The people that vote on the Heisman were almost assuredly not doing that.

Kinda but not exactly. The odds were up in the air during the game because if Bo would've led the comeback he certainly would've been the favorite.

If Vegas thought JD wasn't the clear favorite they wouldn't let the line move so far regardless of how many people bet on him. It's not all driven by public money. Once the game was over it was the 1st instance that all resume's were complete and they adjusted the line accordingly.

Nope. Honestly. He has had an amazing year for the Tigers. He has exceeded even his own expectations if you ask me.

I didn't think he'd win at the beginning of the season because of the inconsistency last year. Happy to be proven wrong if it comes to fruition.

Hell early this year a large number of people on this sight dumbly wanted the Nuss Bus to roll when they had the best player in college football ahead of him.

After that first game against Florida State, no. He had improved tremendously since then.

I thought he was lot better than this board gave him credit for.

I never thought he should be benched or that Nuss should start ahead of him

But I never saw what he did this year coming.

but dont let the betting odds dictate your opinion. They are nothing but a reflection of mass group-think.

There’s almost 1000 voters.
Every former Heisman winner gets a vote. I bet half of them don’t even watch football and vote with the mass group think or biased regional voting. Same can be said for some “journalists”. These idiots have to be told what to think.

I said when he transferred here, he has a chance to be a lesser version of Vince Young at Texas. I was wrong, he’s better than Vince Young was at Texas.
