I know a few people may disagree with this, but I honestly feel like “Plush” by Stone Temple Pilots is in the Top 10 of greatest rock songs ever. I have always loved this song, from start to finish it is incredible. It is one of the defining songs of the 90’s and I feel like it is STP’s best song.

I believe it stacks up against some of the best rock tracks from the last 40-50 years. Again, it may seem like a stretch to some, but I’m standing my ground with this one. Do you agree or disagree?

Plush is in my top 5 personal favorite songs. I was a teen in the 90’s and it is like the song of my adolescence. I still jam it in the car.

The acoustic version is awesome as well.

Plush is arguably not even good.

Interstate Love Song, OTOH, is not only their best song (by a lot) but conceivably a Top 10 of all time.

BigScrub, why do you feel Plush is not good? Is the tune just not your cup of tea?

This is one of the reasons to support your stance its greatness.

Lady Picture Show is their best song

1st Live performance unplugged on Howeird (TDS)Stern

Weiland had to read the lyrics off paper since they'd just written it.

And yeah, the Beatles influence is obvious.

Lady Picture Show is an amazing song. It’s criminally forgotten by most.

Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart is fantastic, too.

Scott Weiland is easily a Top 10 rock star of all time. The man epitomized the life style and was of the last true legends of his era.

Love you, Scott, you magnificent bastard you!

I like every song mentioned in this thread, but this one is my favorite. And, I think the assertion by the OP is absolutely absurd.

IMO, not even the best STP song.

Dead and Bloated or Interstate Love Song are better.

Since you asked, I will say absolutely not..

But from the beginning, I never understood the appeal of this band and had an early irrational hate for them (90s). These days there is no hate, but I still dont like them and will change any station the moment I detect the first note of one of their songs...

I like the chorus (when it finally gets to it) but it just seems so plodding (and also too long).

Several other songs on that same debut album are much better (e.. Creep).

The only thing wrong with interstate love song is that it's too damned short.
