After a disappointing 5-7 season, head coach Billy Napier has started to make some changes to the staff. The Orlando Sentinel reports tonight that assistant head coach / secondary coach Corey Raymond and co-defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Sean Spencer have been let go. Both men were in their second season with the Gators.

This can’t be true. I was told he is the best thing since sliced bread and is irreplaceable!

I thought Raymond was supposed to be the best in the business.

This could be the best thing for LSU. Bring Corey back and now his wandering eyes will come back to reality, along with his ridiculous DC goals.

CR is headed back to Baton Rouge. Don’t know if that’s good or bad.

LSU’s passing defense rank in Corey’s last 2 years here:

2020: 128th
2021: 80th

He then went to Florida and took over a passing defense that ranked 25th in the country the year before he got there. With Corey, Florida ranked:

2022: 84th
2023: 68th

Pass defense under Corey his last 4 years has been fricking garbage. It’s an average finish of 90th in the country. frick that

Pass Defense rank under Corey Raymond his last 7 years at LSU

2021: 80th
2020: 128th
2019: 59th
2018: 38th
2017: 21st
2016: 23rd
2015: 66th

That’s an average rank of 59th

LSU needs much better production than that. They havent fielded a DBU worthy pass defense since 2014….10 years ago
