In realty, McDonalds is a real estate company that sells hamburgers.
Yeah we saw the movie too.

Another reason for the automation push is how society has changed. A day doesn't go by when we don't get a new crazy video of a fight at a fast food place. They cant find people willing to work and deal with that garbage.
So the automation push is a combination of saving money, becoming more efficient, and avoiding encounters with the Dindu Nuffins.

I have a friend who used to own many of the Burger Kings in the Shreveport area. I would visit him at least once a year and he would relate his biggest problems. His problem was labor but not his costs of labor. It was difficult for him to get his labor to show up for work. He was spending half his day with labor problems so he sold all of them except for one.
He would spend a week training employees then they would work for a month or two then quit. The employees would fight among themselves while at work. They would not show up for their assigned shift or would want to trade shifts with other employees.
Most robots won't have these types of problems.

The first sentient McD worker in a long time.

Automation at McDonald's would be great. I'm for as much automation as possible.

Bigfishchoupique suggested the machines will learn to spit lube oil. Maybe. But they won't be insolent or lazy or loaded with attitude.

McD’s opened a fully automated restaurant end of last year. They’re preparing for massive layoffs to automate everything possible. This is the ramifications of minimum wage increases
This has nothing to do with minimum wage
It’s yalls fault because you won’t let braxxtyn get a job in high school because you have a misguided belief that he’s gonna get a scholarship even though he has your weak genetics
Poor McDonald’s is forced to hire the bottom rung of employee and most of them aren’t smart enough to get an order right or run a cash register. If there was one normal kid with decent work ethic he would keep the operation afloat but nooo he’s too precious to work
Also this is probably a ploy to squeeze out smaller franchisees

I'm used to seeing the line cooks and the fry machine and people back there but now it's walled off like they don't want you to see back there.
Nearly every chick-fil-a in the country has a walled off kitchen.

I guess they will make you sack your stuff like Wally World. Probably make you put the cap on the drink their robot 3/4 fills.

More BS...they can just raise their food another $0.10 like they do every other week anyways to make up for the one time minimum raise hike.
Not true. Many studies, and empirical evidence, show that as fast food gets more expensive, eventually demand is reduced.

as long as the robot understands what Plane means, I'm OK

Or they have friends come in for 100’s dollars of free food everyday
