The fans didn't complain in the years they were running Brile's offensive system.
Yes we did. He’s a “better” coach in the Briles/Lebby system, but our OL was hot arse the past few seasons. He was out at Arkansas either way.

That’s interesting. I don’t think State has ever used a TE.
Hardly ever. State has had TEs play in the pros who barely caught passes playing for State.

I think it was because Enos's system wasn't a good fit for Jefferson and everything took to long to develop
took too long to develop? Nothing could develop in the first place because our OL would get demolished.
He won't look as bad because the Briles system masks OL deficiencies, but Kennedy is absolutely not a good coach. The technique from our OL was awful.

Looks like lebby is adding ark ol coach Cody Kennedy. Arkansas o line was garbage this year.
Thank God that dude is gone, probably the worst OL coach we will ever have. Sorry State fans, good luck you will need it.

From Arkansas athletics website:
"The 2022 Razorbacks’ offense was one of the best in school history with Kennedy’s offensive line paving the way for 6,128 yards – the second-most in Arkansas history. The Hogs were particularly strong in the run game, averaging 236.7 yards per game and crossing the 3,000-yard mark for just the 10th time in school history."
“Hot arse” my arse.

Same article:
“ Kennedy’s impact on the men up front was immediately noticeable as the Hogs turned into one of the most physical teams in the league and led the SEC in rushing – ranking second in all of FBS – with 227.8 yards per game in 2021. The offensive line helped pave the way for 2,961 yards rushing. The 2021 Razorbacks were an evenly distributed ground force with four different players rushing for over 500 yards, a feat that had not been accomplished at Arkansas since 1975.”
Recency bias is strong.

You got me. Our athletics website would never write an article identifying all of the redeeming aspects of one of our own coaches.

I have a couple questions:
Arky had significant offensive success in Kennedy's first 2 seasons as OL coach. Were y'all complaining about him then?
If it's Kennedy's fault that the OL was trash this season, why did y'all fire Enos but not the OL coach?

Yes. We had offensive success in Briles system because it offsets poor line play. Fans have been calling for his head for at least the past 2 seasons.
He wasn’t being retained. Pittman rarely fires assistants, just lets them find other jobs. Kennedy was never going to be publicly fired because by all accounts he’s a good person and Pittman really liked him. On top of that, he fosters kids in Arkansas so that situation had to be figured out.

In conclusion, Arkansas fans are completely irrational. I am glad we were able to get to the bottom of this!

If it helps you sleep at night thinking you actually poached him, by all means go for it.

Actually, yes. Nearly every single week. That’s why you see damn near universal happiness that he’s gone.

I’m not claiming we poached him. I’m trying to figure out why y’all think he sucks. And so far the only explanation I’ve gotten is “he sucks.”

You were complaining about your OL coach when you had one of your best OLs in program history?
Posted on 12/2/23 at 1:52 pm to El Mattadorr
It wasn’t one of the best OLs in our history. No one who actually sat there and watched our games would even remotely try to make that argument.
Posted on 12/2/23 at 2:51 pm to TheCheshireHog
You ran for 3,000 yards!
Posted on 12/2/23 at 6:08 pm to El Mattadorr
Again, if you have near unanimous happiness from a fanbase that someone is leaving, it should be a huge red flag to you.

Lebby got his QB
Pete Thamel
@PeteThamel
Former Baylor quarterback Blake Shapen (@BShapen) has committed to Mississippi State, he tells ESPN. Shapen started 23 games for the Bears over three seasons and has thrown for 5,574 career yards and 36 career touchdowns.
He’ll be immediately eligible and has at least one season of eligibility remaining.

Solid QB to start his tenure. I wonder if they’ll keep going after Gabriel and try to copy what Ole Miss did with Spencer Sanders
