There are funny ones but you have to go back quite a ways.

Gilda Radner, Lily Tomlin, etc, were funny 40 years ago. The problem is that most since then have traded on their gender rather than their comedic chops.

Cloris Leachman, for example, is an older comedian who did a good set at Bob Saget’s roast, going blue by talking about her first entry into show business involved tripping over Milton Berle’s cock and that someone who crowd about YouTube viewers has nothing on someone who did donkey shows for two years straight until the donkey died of exhaustion.

I don't give a shite about Matt Rife, but if you think jokes about men hitting women are funny then hey go ahead and be a piece of shite I won't stop you.

Who admits to watching Amy Schumer’s routines?

I've seen all of her stuff.

Not because I've ever seen an Amy Schumer set, but because I've watched a bunch of other comedians she has made a living off ripping off.

A lot of jokes are in the presentation.

One of the classic Norm MacDonald jokes goes like this.

“Statistics are out showing that women are better drivers than men. The numbers don’t add up to 100% because the math was done by a woman.”

Boos

“For the record, that joke was written by a woman.”

Laughs

“I’m just kidding… we don’t hire woman.”

Massive laughs

It was about the subversion of expectations to milk a shitty joke in order to get a lot of response from the audience.

This guy isn’t very funny, but there’s nothing wrong with that joke. People think if someone hears a joke like this and laughs it means they’ll suddenly be pro domestic violence and start beating their wives. Such a stupid way of thinking.

Jokes aside, women have lower men's expectation of them so much in recent years that if one was to cook and frick, she would be the gold standard.

This is a great pr move

I pretty much avoided him because I thought he was a comedian for women tbh

what’s funny is most of his fans are chicks because he’s basically a frick boy.

I didn’t particularly think the dv joke was funny. I thought the reply directing critics to a special needs helmet was funny.

If Rife wants his brand to be associated with making fun of literal retards and domestic violence, good for him and let the market work itself out. Censorship is dumb

Good. You don't like it, don't watch it. I can see an argument if stuff like this is geared towards kids, but it obvs wasn't.

My dad told my future wife this joke at Thanksgiving when we were dating

What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?

Nothing, you already told her twice.

Rife is kind of lame to me because all of the clips you see on Facebook of him interacting with his crowd are all staged. Almost every single one of those interactions were planned beforehand.. he knows what they’re going to say already, and he already has his funny response cooked up.

Just kind of lame to me in my opinion

That special was terrible, I didn’t even finish it.

Glad I didn’t spend the money to see him live

Never found him to be all that funny (haven't seen his special just the million youtube shorts that he pumped out to my feed when he was blowing up) but this is great. I'm glad he didn't bow to the mob and gave them a big "frick you" for their troubles.

I'll be checking his special out now.

Ehhh...some maybe, but not all. Dude does really good crowd work and has a decent set. He was good on Wild 'n' Out which requires the ability to improv which he is pretty good at. He wouldn't be as popular as he is if he wasn't a frick boy, but a lot of comics have been on record saying they want to hate him because he is too pretty to be as funny as he is, but say he's actually a genuinely charming guy and you can't hate him once you meet him.

Since he didn’t bow down to the mob, they will likely leave him alone. His fans don’t care and he doesn’t care. This just means the people that don’t like his humor aren’t going to watch.

No loss here.
