My 14 year old is on a ladder at a creek crossing behind our house. Hardwoods all around .
Savage 110 3006 for him.
I got up with him and we chatted drinking coffee. I’m a proud dad . Hoping to be skinning one soon.
Good luck to all.

My nephew is with me this weekend trying to get his first buck with bow. He has bucks chasing all around him in the dark and is freaking out Hopefully something hangs around for daylight.

I’m about 400 yards away and just listening to ducks fly.

I also smoked a 6 pt with my truck this morning. Destroyed my grill and headlights. Could have been worse though as it still drives.

Good luck everyone!

Not In y’all’s area anymore but had to comment on your statement about sitting and drinking coffee with your son. Brought me back 50 years when as a teenager I couldn’t wait for opening day of duck season and smelling coffee and sausage cooking in the kitchen and my dad kicking around before we headed out to the rice fields near Holmwood, LA. I miss those days more than anything. Enjoy your time with your kids every day!
Thanks and good luck.

Good luck y'all.

I'm stuck at home installing new flooring. There was a deer eating the landscaping this morning, though.

Got my dogs in the truck, and I'm itching for someone to call and ask me to come track one for them.

Got a nice little doe this morning, just over 120 lbs. She’s on ice. Hoping for the 12 point we have on camera to drop by this afternoon!

Trying to get this guy to "daylight".
I've been laying off his core area until he gets fired up

Missed a big buck TWICE crossing the road around 7AM. Severe hangover definitely a factor.

ETA: open to suggestions on additional excuses, will need to be well prepared when I return back to the camp

Good luck gents. My wife started working the polls (not poles) last year, and until then I never realized election day was peak deer season

Now I'm taking care of sick kids all damn day on my day off
